Caitlin Clark was caught in quite an awkward situation on the court as she was interviewed by NBA legend Reggie Miller himself. Miller put Clark on the spot when he compared her playing style to a certain Boston Celtics guard, which left the WNBA’s sensation Clark absolutely bewildered. So much so that even basketball legend Candace Parker couldn’t refrain from speaking about the matter.

“Bless his heart, I love Reggie think he meant well honestly, I mean there’s some dudes that don’t mean well, but there’s some dudes that mean well, but Boston Celtics weren’t even playing that night. Love you, Reg, love you, HOF’er your sister’s a HOF’er, respects the woman’s game than anybody, but I am going to have to disagree with you on that,” Parker said on her podcast

Parker made it obvious through her comments how she feels about the incident that unfolded on NBC’S “Basketball Night in America” coverage. And the moment Miller made that Caitlin Clark and Payton Pritchard comparison, you could see the WNBA star blinking rapidly with a smile plastered on her face throughout the interview.

Parker’s subtle “dig,” or rather not so subtle one, made even co-host Aliyah Boston smirk. Like, if we have to look at both Pritchard and Clark’s respective careers, we can see the stark difference in what they have done so far.

Clark scores nearly double Pritchard’s average of 18.5 ppg, reflecting her role as a primary offensive option. Pritchard is more of a secondary scorer off the bench, 10.1. Her assists are elite in the WNBA, while Pritchard’s 2.9 APG is modest for an NBA guard. Caitlin is a handful with the rebounds, 5.5, which Payton significantly lacks at 2.9. Clark has more defensive facets in her game which considerably overrides Pritchard’s.

However, the only spot where Pritchard does manage to come close is the shooting splits (especially from three), but Clark’s free-throw percentage is slightly higher. So Reggie Miller’s comparison just doesn’t make sense if you think about it.

Well enough of the Clark-Pritchard comparisons, Caitlin Clark also added another laurel to her young resume as she joined NBC as an analyst. Are there more off-court activities already in motion for CC?

Caitlin Clark’s Sharp Analysis Earns Her Return to NBC Broadcast

Caitlin Clark’s debut on NBC as an analyst really showed her game-reading abilities as her analysis focused on the flow of the game, player tendencies, and situational basketball, keeping the broadcast grounded and accessible. This was very well received.

Understandably, NBC is planning to bring Clark back later this season, and NBC Sports President Rick Cordella also confirmed this piece of information. Clark is scheduled to appear as an analyst for the Knicks game against the defending NBA champion Oklahoma City Thunder on March 29.

The door has been left ajar for Clark in that regard, which means additional appearances are also on the cards. While no expanded role has been officially announced, the comments suggested genuine interest rather than casual praise.

For the record, Clark served as an analyst in a mega matchup between the Knicks and Lakers, a game that naturally draws national attention; the venue was not an ordinary one, either. It was the Mecca of the sports world itself, Madison Square Garden (MSG), so it was a grand stage set for the welcome of a celebrated player.

NBC clearly understands the star power Caitlin Clark brings and has no intention of letting an opportunity like this pass by. With its sturdy footprint across major sports like the NFL, the Olympics, and the NBA, NBC knows how to leverage elite talent, and bringing Clark into that space is a smart, forward-thinking move that instantly adds excitement and credibility to its coverage.

For Clark, this is another step in her steady rise beyond just being an exceptional player. Her basketball IQ, confidence, and connection with fans make her a natural fit in the media world. As she continues to grow her presence on and off the court, this collaboration reflects how she is shaping a future that goes far beyond just the game.
