While fans were expecting an enthralling showdown on Saturday due to the clash of archrivals Reese and Clark, something else happened. Chennedy Carter was part of every news headline alongside Fever’s star, quite obviously, and not for a good reason. It was her defensive strategy that left Clark knocking the hardwood while Carter herself landed in the middle of controversy for using a “cheap shot.” But the tale does not end here.

The Sky guard is now facing intense criticism for her on-court action. Not only that but fans and critics were seen crossing all limits, as many went too far with personal attacks and even called her “ugly.” After coming across this comment, Carter shared feeling deeply hurt and was immediately urged to defend herself.

She took a screenshot of her X post and uploaded it to her Instagram story, adding, “like don’t use words loosely.” Within a couple of minutes, the snap garnered the attention of millions. Seems like Carter is now open for questioning. But, this is not the end as she went on to take on her critics via Instagram.

Carter’s take on Clark’s supporters

Carter, moving on penned, “You’ll don’t know me but think you know my story Ahhh contradicting yourself” along with a laughing emoji. But the message wasn’t posted alone. She uploaded her message on top of a post by ESPN wherein the team posted Carter’s response from a recent interview session.

“I’m truly a passionate person about the game, and I’m genuine. You can ask all my teammates….they know the real Chennedy Carter. So I’m just saying, don’t form an opinion off of one little clip. And you didn’t even see the whole game and/or the play that led to that. ” said the ESPN’s post.

For those unaware, the post goes around the snippet from the matchup between Chicago Sky and Indiana Fever wherein Carter’s move led Clark to hit the hardwood. Since then it is the first time when Carter openly spoke about the controversies around her beside her, “no question” comment. However, it seems like Carter’s now shooting up words just like an explosive. Now, the question is: What about Caitlin Clark? Will she be ok with what Carter said?
