“We want you.” The message from the Las Vegas Aces couldn’t have been clearer on how desperate they are to have Cheyenne Parker-Tyus. It makes even more sense knowing she was pregnant with her second child and might not feature much this season. Last season, she was the highest-paid player on the Atlanta Dream and wanted a shot at the ultimate prize, and the Aces looked like the perfect team to make that happen. But no one in the media knew she was pregnant. So who are these lil lovlies?

Cheyenne Parker-Tyus’ 2 kids

Cheyenne Parker-Tyus has two kids with her husband, Keevin Tyus. Their daughter Naomi was born on December 27, 2021, and their son Yoshua arrived on July 1, 2025. While the details of their marriage aren’t widely known, the couple has been together for quite some time. Keevin has been a major source of support, helping Cheyenne balance motherhood with a demanding WNBA career.

“My first pregnancy was an adventure, and it was also a roller coaster. There were so many layers and levels to that experience,” Parker-Tyus told Women’s Health magazine, explaining how she had to undergo a C-section despite hoping for a natural delivery. Luckily, Cheyenne’s first pregnancy came during the WNBA offseason, giving her time to recover and come back stronger.

While playing for the Beijing Great Wall during the 2024–2025 season, Cheyenne Parker-Tyus discovered she was pregnant with her second child. A complete surprise. “It was not a planned thing. I was in the process of changing my birth control, because the one I was on was fluctuating my weight throughout the WNBA season. Within the time that I waited to change birth controls—literally, I’m talking days, no more than two weeks—it happened,” she said in the same interview.

The WNBA free-agent period was a tense time for Cheyenne Parker-Tyus. Being pregnant put her at risk of not landing a team, but she had her sights set on winning her first championship and entered talks with the Aces. Some people suggested she keep her pregnancy under wraps, but the veteran refused to be dishonest. She told the franchise the truth about her condition, and they still wanted her.

The Aces quietly brought her in on a training camp contract, which translated to a veteran minimum contract worth $78,831 as per reporter Alexa Philippou. It was a bold move, but with an 11-year resume and an All-Star tag to her name, Parker-Tyus was worth the gamble. Fans were stunned. Here was a player who averaged 9.2 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 1.5 assists over 25 games in 2024, and she was coming at a fraction of her value.

It soon became clear why she had flown under the radar. On July 15, 2025, CPT took to Instagram to reveal she had given birth to a baby boy, and that she would return for the playoffs. She made her comeback on September 9 against her former team, the Chicago Sky, scoring 8 points in just 8 minutes. In doing so, she became one of the few WNBA players to return to the league after having two children. Now, with the Aces in the 2025 Finals, Cheyenne could very well be on the verge of winning her first WNBA ring.

How does Cheyenne Parker handle both her career and kids?

In an interview with Yahoo, Cheyenne Parker-Tyus opened up about the reality of life as a mom. She comes home from work, breastfeeds her three-month-old son Yoshua, and makes sure she’s eating and staying hydrated, all for her kids. Alongside her husband Keevin, she also cares for her three-year-old daughter Naomi. And sleep? She’s running on just five to six hours a night.

“I was just walking in the gym this morning, thinking about it, reflecting,” she said in the interview. “I can’t even believe I’m here and just with my team and in the Finals for the first time in my career, so, like, just to be here, yeah, it’s surreal.”

Cheyenne Parker-Tyus stands as a true inspiration for women athletes everywhere, showing resilience, honesty, and the incredible skill of balancing motherhood with a high-stakes professional career. We wish her nothing but the best as she chases her first WNBA championship.
