The Dallas Wings have started eight different lineups in just 20 games this season. And if that doesn’t tell you everything about how chaotic this season has been for them, let’s throw in the fact that they’ve been without both DiJonai Carrington and Arike Ogunbowale since late June. Sure, there’ve been a few flashes without them but a 6-14 record is still not the prettiest picture.
Now, as they head into Chicago, they’re facing a team that’s basically been living the same reality. The Sky are 5-13, despite Angel Reese having herself a major moment lately. So as these two meet for the third time this season – with both teams hungry for momentum – it’s set up to be one of those anything-can-happen kind of nights.

Injury Report & Probable Lineups
Dallas Wings:
Well, no surprises here….4 stars remain out for the matchup. Carrington’s been dealing with a rib injury since June 20, and Arike hurt her left thumb on June 28. Also, Ty Harris (left knee) hasn’t played since May 27, and Maddy Siegrist (right knee) has been sidelined since June 11.

Chicago Sky:
The Sky, too, have their absences. Courtney Vandersloot is out for the season, and Kamilla Cardoso – who’s been out since June 24 after repping Brazil in the AmeriCup – was hopeful for a return. In fact, Coach Tyler Marsh was “hopeful” as of yesterday. But as of now, Cardoso’s officially still out for tonight.

Prediction: Can the Wings Get Their Revenge?
Last time these two met, it was back in May, and the Sky were riding a five-game losing streak. But when Dallas rolled in, Chicago got their groove back and walked away with back-to-back wins. So they know how to beat this team. But since starting the season 1-11, Dallas has quietly gone 5-3 in their last eight games.
That includes a huge upset over the Phoenix Game 1 and a strong showing against Phoenix where, despite the 30-point loss, three of their starters still hit double digits. On the flip side, Chicago’s been struggling to find rhythm. They’ve lost two straight, including a frustrating one to the Mystics that had Reese visibly fired up during the game.
The Sky are 10th in field goal percentage at 42.7% and have had turnover issues all season. Still, they’ve made up for it with rebounding hustle, especially on the offensive glass, where they’re third in the league. Stat-wise, it’s neck and neck. The Sky average slightly more points per game (they rank 8th, Wings 9th), and both squads thrive in fast-break opportunities.

But consistency is still missing on both ends. What they do have are two stars – Reese and Bueckers – who’ve been giving it their all, whether the wins show up or not. So who takes it tonight? Honestly, it could go either way. But considering the Wings’ recent momentum and ESPN’s win probability swinging 51.9% in their favor, we’re leaning slightly toward Dallas to finally get some revenge.
