As the 19th overall pick in 2013, Emma Meesseman is an unstoppable force on the international stage. The six-feet-four veteran is popularly known for reading the game like a point guard and making tactical defences. Her swiftness and agility strengthen the 32-year-old’s ability to switch between power forward or center, depending on the ask of the situation.

What is Emma Meesseman’s WNBA contract history?

Emma Meesseman signed a one-year, guaranteed contract with the Chicago Sky back in the year 2022. The deal was worth $185,000 with a cap hit of the same amount. Unfortunately, the franchise chose not to renew the athlete’s contract in 2023, thereby forcing her to become an unrestricted free agent. And soon enough, her WNBA salary was considered inactive.

Prior to her stint with the Sky, Meesseman signed a four-year contract with the Washington Mystics back in 2016. Worth a whopping $342,500, the deal promised an average annual salary of $85,625 to the athlete. But when her contract expired in 2020, she agreed to a one-year extension contract.

Under the new deal, Meesseman was promised a lucrative lump sum of $215,000 before teaming up with the Sky. This has brought the star center’s WNBA earnings to a total of $742,500– $557, 500 under the Mystics, and $185,000 with the Sky. Her rookie contract, however, is still under wraps.  

How much is Emma Meesseman expected to earn with the New York Liberty in 2025?

As one of the finest forward players on a global stage, Meesseman decided to sign a deal with the New York Liberty on July 22, 2025. Though the terms of the contract haven’t been disclosed yet, reports confirm that the Liberty has enough cap space to accommodate a pro-rated max contract.

As someone who averaged 12.4 points, 5.6 rebounds and 3.8 assists per game in 2022 during her tenure with Chicago Sky, Meesseman is one of those few veterans whose impressive resume and WNBA demand will land her with a secured, top-tier veteran salary in her belt.

That resume boosts her market value and provides her with an edge above her counterparts. Known for her two-way versatility, the athlete boasts an elite shooting efficiency that enables her to average double-digits in every game. Meesseman also brings international stage experience, having helped her Belgium team to a fourth-place finish during the Olympics last year.
