After a few stints here and there Elizabeth Cambage has finally become a part of the WCBA. Recently, the ex-Sparks player has been on the headlines for many reasons but a rather sad one came this Monday when she put a story on Instagram. The 6′ 9″ center mourned a fellow Australian entrepreneur’s tragic loss with five words.

“An icon gone too soon”, wrote Cambage as she shared a RIP post on her Instagram story. Australian DJ Courtney Mills was on holiday in Bali when a tragic accident led to her early demise. The 37-year-old fell from a balcony on Friday and was taken to a hospital where she succumbed to her injuries on Sunday. Her Instagram currently has 151 thousand followers and she is being mourned bythe  masses including Cambage.

Interestingly, apart from belonging to the same continent, Cambage shared a similar career choice with Mills. Both were active in the adult platform Onlyfans along with their main successful careers in sports and music. “It’s wild thinking that in a week I’ve already made more than I did playing for years in the league,” Cambage admitted. Her adult content career has been far more lucrative than her WNBA stints according to Cambage.

“Basketball was a part of me, but it wasn’t all of me,”, said Cambage. She currently has more than million followers on Instagram which speaks for her self-made brand. She has made an estimate of around $1.5 million annually on the platform which is way greater than WNBA’s salary ceiling of $241,984 for 2024.

Along with being one of the most controversial female athletes, Cambage is also known for her free-spirited thinking around the sport. She did not limit herself to the WNBA despite the league’s prestigious status. She has been open about her feelings on paychecks and has shifted to the WCBA with a more lucrative salary. Let’s have a closer look at the interesting personality of the basketball sensation.

Elizabeth Cambage is not leaving the sport anytime soon

Rumors recently circulated that the controversial female athlete would part ways with basketball. However, she clarified that she won’t be doing that in her Instagram story. “I’m retired??’ I’m literally in season. I have a game tonight, and I have the largest female contract in the f-cking planet.”, said Cambage on her Instagram story. She is currently getting back-to-back wins while averaging a jaw-dropping 23.1 points a game.

Even her three-month contract with the Chinese team outweighs her WNBA cheques by a huge margin. The Sichuan Yuanda signed her for $1 million back in 2023. Even during her turbulent career, Cambage has performed steadily and her resilience can be appreciated despite all the controversies.
