The 2026 regular-season finale could hardly have gone worse for the Indiana Fever. After securing a win over the No. 1-seeded Minnesota Lynx on Tuesday, the Fever locked horns with the Lynx again on Thursday night, but nothing clicked, and Indiana looked like a team that just didn’t know what it was doing. After falling behind 25-4 in the first quarter, Indiana simply never recovered. But the loss was only part of Indiana’s problems, as Aliyah Boston and Tyasha Harris both exited with injuries.

Boston was subbed out of the matchup with a little less than three minutes remaining in the first half. And while many expected her to return after halftime, the Fever ruled her out for the remainder of the game with a lower-leg issue. So, during her postgame media availability, the head coach was asked for an update on Boston’s status and what happened to the Fever star.
“Just a flare-up, same lower leg,” White said before she was asked if Boston was pulled out at halftime simply out of an abundance of concern, to which she replied, “Yes.”
Aliyah Boston has dealt with a lower-leg injury several times this season and has even missed some games because of it. What made it flare up on Thursday and the extent of the issue, however, remain unclear for now. But if her exit was simply out of concern, the Fever were smart to take that approach, especially with the playoffs right around the corner. Indiana has dominated games behind a three-headed monster that includes Boston, Caitlin Clark, and Kelsey Mitchell, so the team likely did not want a minor issue to turn into a serious problem at this stage of the season.
But Tyasha Harris’ health is a major concern right now. She had to be carried off the floor in the third quarter after landing awkwardly on her left ankle while driving for a layup.
So when asked if there was any update on Harris’ condition, the Fever head coach said, “No update on Ty yet. She’s still being evaluated, so hopefully we’ll have an update later.”
White was also asked whether Harris’ ankle got caught underneath her as she came down on the play. However, the coach admitted that she did not have enough information to say what exactly happened.
“I don’t know. It was an awkward fall. I’m not really sure,” White added.
Aliyah Boston had four points and three rebounds before exiting the game, while Harris finished with four points and two assists before her injury cut her night short. With both players now dealing with health concerns, the Fever couldn’t have asked for a worse way to close out their regular season.
Indiana ultimately suffered an 86-66 loss to Minnesota, ending the regular season on a sour note after beating the same Lynx team just two days earlier. Now, with the playoffs right around the corner, the Fever will have to put this night behind them and hope both Boston and Harris can recover in time for the postseason.
