On Thursday night’s game between the Los Angeles Sparks and Atlanta Dream, during the third quarter, with 02:59 on the clock, Jihyun Park was ready to take a free throw when Dream forward Angel Reese played a key role in helping security deal with a fan who threw an unusual green object onto the court.
The incident came with the Dream firmly in control, holding an 84-53 lead over the Los Angeles Sparks. Before Los Angeles could cut into the deficit, the object was thrown onto the court, briefly disrupting the action.
During the third quarter, a fan suddenly hurled an unusual object onto the court, forcing the referee to stop play.
From her seat on the bench, Reese quickly pointed toward the person responsible, as seen in the video shared by The Dunk Central. She continued pointing until arena security identified and apprehended the spectator.

Earlier in the game, Reese had already made history. Her perfect 8-for-8 shooting from the field tied an Atlanta Dream franchise record for the most field goals made in a game without a miss.
On top of that, her 15-point, 5-rebound, 5-assist performance while shooting 100% from the field made her the first player in WNBA history to record that stat line in a half. But the tone of the game changed after halftime when another incident occurred seemingly for the first time this year.
The middle of the 2025 WNBA season was marked by several incidents involving green objects being thrown onto the court during games.
The incidents began at a Dream game in late July and continued into the following week, including one at a Sparks game.
Multiple fans have been apprehended or ejected, while the league imposed strict bans on anyone caught throwing objects onto the court.
Reese, however, didn’t let the incident take away from her night. She celebrated her historic performance after the game in some special ways.
Angel Reese celebrates the day with a special post
Right after Thursday night’s game, Angel Reese summed up her emotions in five words on X.
“DUBS IN THE MF CHATTTT,” she wrote.
And after becoming the third player in WNBA history to shoot 100% from the field in a 20-point, 10-rebound game, ATL Barbie also revealed the secret behind her impressive performance in front of the cameras.

“My work, trusting my work all year, just being able to stay focused, stay dialed in,” Reese said during the postgame show. “My threes, I’ve been working on them with Karl every day, every night, all the time. So just trying to trust my work and just staying poised.”
That was quite a turnaround from last week. After the game against the Indiana Fever, Reese admitted that she couldn’t sleep because she was disappointed with her performance.
This time, there was plenty to celebrate. The Atlanta Dream cruised past the Los Angeles Sparks 124-88, while Reese put together a historic performance. She now holds the WNBA single-season record for offensive rebounds with 173.
And when the situation called for it, she even helped security identify a fan who had thrown an object onto the court.
Reese’s night was about much more than another dominant win. From a historic shooting performance to helping security stop a disruption, she stayed locked in when it mattered.
