The Unrivaled game between Hive BC and Breeze BC was a bit extra GOATED as an eight-time Olympic gold medalist graced the floors of the arena. Yes, the world’s fastest man, Usain Bolt, was present to catch some 3-on-3 basketball, and during that time, he also made some revelations about the Dallas Wings and their star rookie, Paige Bueckers.

During his time at the arena, Bolt gave a brief interview, in which he revealed that, besides Unrivaled’s electrifying physicality, Bueckers’ skill set also appealed to him. The world’s fastest man confirmed that he is a big fan of Bueckers’ professional team, the Dallas Wings, courtesy of the 24-year-old.

“I’m definitely a fan. We actually support Dallas; we’ve been to a few games in Dallas,” Bolt said while reflecting on Bueckers’ contributions in transforming him into a Dallas fan. “So, actually, I’m getting season tickets this season, so looking forward to see much more games.”

Speaking further in the conversation, Bolt admitted that attending the game wasn’t his idea; rather, it was his girlfriend, Kasi Bennett, who insisted on it. “This is my first time. It’s been good,” Bolt said of his first-time experience at the Unrivaled. “I don’t want to take all the credit from my girlfriend; she’s been here like four times, so she’s been telling me that I should come.”

Bolt has also shown his admiration for the Dallas Wings and, specifically, Bueckers in the past, too. Last year, the eight-time Olympic gold medalist met the Wings point guard in the locker room, where Bueckers presented him with a signed jersey showcasing the camaraderie of two top athletes. Moreover, being a fan of the Jamaican athlete, the Dallas Wings point guard was also quick to get her jersey signed by him during this meetup.

And just a year later, while Bolt hopped in Miami to watch Bueckers play for Breeze BC, the 24-year-old didn’t disappoint the world’s fastest man. Although her team lost 68-70 to Kelsey Mitchell’s Hive BC, Bueckers stood out with 28 points, shooting 13-23 from open play, to continue her staggering form in her Unrivaled debut season.

While the Dallas Wings guard continues to sharpen her skills in the offseason tournament, Bolt’s presence made her time on the court a bit extra special. Moreover, this cross-sport admiration also quietly validates that Bueckers’ profile has been on the rise over the past couple of years, both on and off the court.

Paige Bueckers’ Journey Is Entering a New Phase

Paige Bueckers’ rookie season with the Dallas Wings went pretty well, with her performances even exceeding those of young prodigies like Caitlin Clark. She concluded the season as the WNBA Rookie of the Year, but overall, with her team, she couldn’t achieve much success, as it failed to qualify for the playoffs for the second straight year. So, ahead of her upcoming season, scheduled to start in May, how is she faring?

Bueckers isn’t resting upon her accolades from her rookie year, and soon after the conclusion of the 2025 season, she joined the Unrivaled. So, the question is: how should it help her? The answer lies in the physicality of the 3-on-3 tournament. The tournament’s physicality can help Bueckers leverage her precise shooting.

“Yeah, I think the physicality [is] No. 1,” she said about Unrivaled’s physicality in a conversation. “We all know that the W is physical, but I feel Unrivaled is even more physical than that, and then not being able to have help side, like you’re basically on the island, so at points you’re gonna have to be okay with getting cooked.”

With this enhanced physicality, Bueckers might be in for another successful season with the Wings. However, the WNBA season is still a couple of months ahead. And she will have plenty of time to approach it perfectly.

In immediate context, she still has several games to play for Breeze BC at the Unrivaled. Her side is fourth in the standings right now, and they are possible championship contenders for the season. Moreover, she will also compete in Unrivaled 1-on-1 tournament later this month, and is another interesting endeavor where we will see her for the first time.
