Angel Reese’s first season in the WNBA did not end as she hoped. Not only did she get injured at the final stage of the regular season, but the team also crashed out of playoff contention without Chi-Town Barbie. The second season is a new beginning, especially after the Sky franchise gave the keys to Tyler Marsh. Will the new season bring in new luck? Well, the LSU alum is pulling all the stops to make it happen.

Angel Reese will represent the Sky at the lottery on Sunday when the team looks to land the No. 2 pick in the 2025 WNBA draft.” Annie Costabile tweeted out the information about the forward’s presence. The Windy City franchise reportedly has a 22.7% chance of landing the top selection. Same odds as Dallas. But the catch is that Sky might not be able to use their draft pick. Since the Wings have the right to swap draft picks, thanks to the February 2023 trade, and are expected to use it, if Chicago’s selection ends up higher than theirs.

So, Angel Reese is the perfect ‘lucky charm’ for the team. After all, during the off-season tours of watching multiple sporting events at different venues, she has a 5-0 record. Currently, the consensus overall #1 pick is UConn’s guard Paige Bueckers. Will it be another dub for Reese as she “W” for Marsh’s signing?

The 2023 trade meant that Marina Mabrey moved from Dallas to Chicago. With the power to swap the higher round pick with Chicago, their odds to win the No. 1 pick remain at 22.7%. At the bottom, it’s Washington Mystics with just a 10.8% chance of landing the top pick. Based just on lottery odds, currently, LA Sparks are the favorite.

Chicago Sky and Angel Reese opting for Fever ‘tactic’

Because of the 25-55 record for the previous two seasons, just based on odds it should be 44.2%. Imagine the ability of Buckeres and combine it with Cameron Brink and Rickea Jackson. Sparks might turn their future bright. As stated earlier, the team with the most disadvantage seems Sky, since anything good for them will be at the mercy of Dallas. So they, are pulling stops just like last year’s team.

During the lottery, representing the Fever was the ROTY from 2023. Aliyah Boston earned the unanimous ROTY award and showed support for the franchise during the lottery. At the time,e it was Caitlin Clark who was the consensus overall #1 pick, and Boston stated, “It’s just going to be another talented player that we can use to help build us back to the franchise the Fever were.” The current senior advisor, who previously was the general manager praised Boston.

She is the good luck charm,” Lin Dunn’s confidence in Boston paid off, as they got Caitlin Clark. So the Sky would be hoping for the same, with the Barbie charm, getting them the desired results. Until the lottery picks are confirmed tomorrow, the Windy City still can draft #1, with Angel Reese watching closely.
