Regardless of what anyone might say, the Indiana Fever vs Chicago Sky rivalry is definitely real! We saw it in the very first game of the season… Angel Reese and Caitlin Clark went at each other hard, walking away with flagrants, technicals, and a whole lot of bruises. But at the end of the day, the Indiana Fever dominated their opponents, winning by an embarrassing 35 point margin.

And even though Angel Reese has her opportunity to get back at the Fever, it just won’t be the same! Caitlin Clark is out with a left quad strain, and some new developments might have the Fever without their head coach as well! It appears that Stephanie White was not with the team today due to personal reasons as per IndyStar Sports reporter Chloe Peterson.

Furthermore, she will not travel to Chicago tomorrow, and her status for tomorrow’s game is TBD. But who will step up in her absence? Well, according to Peterson’s tweets, it will be first assistant coach Austin Kelly! “First assistant coach Austin Kelly would be the acting head coach if White is unavailable, I’m told.” Her post on X read. “The Fever also have Karim Christmas-Kelly and Briann January as assistants.”

The absence of Indiana’s star player and head coach might prove fatal for the championship hopefuls. Although they do have confidence aplenty, having beaten Angel Reese and co quite soundly last time, they’re without two crucial cogs in their machinery.

It will be interesting to see whether the Indiana Fever will be able to pull through without White and Clark. There’s no doubt that the matchup with the Sky will be a real challenge for them, but it might be a blessing in disguise for Angel Reese! The Sky are 2-4 so far, and 0-1 against the Fever, so a win here could really do some good.

But aside from the rivalry, what’s so special about this matchup for Chicago? There seems to be a lot of hubbub from the team, so let’s find out exactly what’s happening!
