Ever since Caitlin Clark stepped onto a WNBA court, the league’s visibility has reached new heights. “THE FACE OF THE NBA IS CAITLIN CLARK!!! Yea I said it!!!!,” former NBA player Rashad McCants once boldly declared. And honestly, he’s not far off. Even in a season that hasn’t fully lived up to the hype, Clark continues to raise the standard for women athletes everywhere, and she’s receiving her recognition!
Even in a season hampered by injuries, Caitlin Clark continues to deliver. She’s averaging 16.5 points, 5 rebounds, and 8.8 assists per game–numbers that still stand out despite a shooting slump that sees her hitting just 36.7% from the field and 27.9% from three. As you would expect, she is still getting the respect she deserves!
Caitlin Clark has officially been crowned the ESPY’s WNBA Player of the Year! The Indiana Fever wasted no time in showing love, celebrating the honor with a tweet that read, “congrats, Caitlin Clark 👏”

Clark’s success in the league hasn’t been limited to her on-court performances. While she had a stellar rookie season that ended with her breaking the Fever’s playoff drought since 2016 and winning Rookie of the Year in the process, Clark’s impact was felt off the court as well.
It goes without saying that Clark’s arrival has brought about a historic change in viewership. Her regular-season games averaged a staggering 1.2 million viewers, which was almost 200% higher than the games without her. But that wasn’t all! The overall TV numbers jumped by 300%, with the Fever games alone accounting for 45% of the league’s total broadcast value.
While people like Mystics owner Sheila Johnson — who once famously said, “Why couldn’t they have put the whole WNBA on that cover and said ‘The WNBA is the League of the Year’, because of all the talent we have?” after Caitlin was awarded TIME Athlete of the Year for 2024 in December — seemed to have downplayed the 23-year-old’s impact, would the WNBA be the fastest-growing sport in the U.S. without Caitlin Clark? Hard to say so!

Coach Stephanie White provides Caitlin Clark injury update!
In the last game against the Connecticut Sun, Clark reaggravated her groin injury and left the court in tears. The third injury in 2 months for a player who had never been injured in her career before! And to make matters worse, the timing of it couldn’t be more unfortunate.
Caitlin Clark was all set to captain one of the teams at the All-Star Game and even compete in the 3-point contest. But with her latest injury, everything is now up in the air. She has already missed the game against Liberty earlier tonight, and her status for the All-Star game is still unknown.
When coach White was asked about it, she said, “There’s been no discussion yet about this weekend. There was imaging done, but there hasn’t been any discussion beyond tonight.” Chloe Peterson of the IndyStar also noted that the final call on Caitlin Clark’s participation in the All-Star festivities will lie with Caitlin and her agency.

While Clark keeps breaking records and collecting accolades like Infinity Stones, her focus remains on staying healthy and helping the Fever fight for that championship come September. The season hasn’t gone the way many expected it to go, but there’s still time to turn it around. That’s why it’s crucial for Clark to take her time, recover properly, and not rush her return to the court this time around.
