Aerial Powers played 10 WNBA games last season, and eight of them, including her final game of the season, were for the Indiana Fever. Since then, the WNBA veteran was a free agent until USA Basketball’s latest announcement. They announced that she will now join the USA 3×3 Women’s Series roster, and her stop representing Team USA will be at Tokyo on August 1.

With the WNBA schedule often conflicting with the 3×3 circuit, and FIBA’s ranking requirements leading to frequent lineup changes, Powers will join Taylor Bigby, Mikayla Blakes, and Madison Scott for the rest of the FIBA 3×3 Women’s Series season, and the fans couldn’t be happier.
“We miss you playing for the Indiana team. Thank you for all of the great memories. Please come back next year,” one fan said.
“We’ll never forget you or the light you brought to the team! You are sorely missed! I hope you can find your way back, sweet lady,” another fan said.
Powers last wore a USA Basketball jersey during the 2022 FIBA World Cup trials and has already won silverware with them, winning the gold medal at the 2015 World University Games.
With the Fever, the 5’11 guard out of Michigan State averaged 7.4 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 2.0 assists per game in just 16.7 minutes of average playing time. She emerged as a key rotational piece for the team, and fans remember the veteran’s role.

Powers’ regular social media updates, which often featured her quirky, warm takes, made her a darling among the fans during her time in Indiana.
“Yep, still following you and wishing the best for you. We all could not be happier that you got the 3×3 gig. I’m actually going to watch the 3×3 when you play!!!,” one fan said.
“Congrats on making the USA 3×3 roster. Happy for you, definitely missed you in Indy. Go be great 👏🏽,” another fan said.
Powers herself felt overwhelmed by the response, and replied to multiple comments. “Omg! So much love for my Indiana fans. Thank y’all for always supporting,” she wrote on her posts.
The previous USA Basketball 3×3 Roster featured the likes of Joyce Edwards, MiLaysia Fulwiley, Mikaylah Williams, and Sahara Williams, who led a dominant era for Team USA, winning consecutive titles in Chengdu and Manila.
They then capped off with a gold at June’s 2026 FIBA 3×3 World Cup. The 5th overall from the 2016 WNBA Draft will now hope to repeat the success of her predecessors for Team USA on the 3×3 circuit.
