History may be just about to repeat itself, and fans just know who to blame. The Indiana Fever are just one more loss away in Round 1 of the WNBA playoffs against the Las Vegas Aces before their playoff run comes to an end. Game 2 will be a do-or-die situation as Caitlin Clark and Co. look to redeem themselves. But with the possibility of their journey this season coming to an end hanging over their heads, the latest injury report has fans pointing fingers.

The Fever’s 102-85 loss to the Aces on Sunday saw Indiana players give one of their worst performances of the season as they showed a lack of overall urgency. So, as the organization released its latest injury report ahead of Game 2 of the first round of the playoffs, many took to its comments section to express their displeasure with the coaching staff and Fever management.
In the report, Aliyah Boston, due to her right leg injury, and Caitlin Clark, due to her back troubles, have been listed as “Probable.” But these issues didn’t just pop up after Sunday’s game. They have been a lingering issue for these players throughout the season. Still, there isn’t a major concern around their names appearing on the report, as this has become more of a precautionary move for Indiana after the team faced major scrutiny and a WNBA warning for failing to transparently report Clark’s back soreness ahead of a missed game earlier in the season.
“This probable CC is getting old. You know why the FEVER SUCK? Coaching and management,” one fan wrote under an X post by the Indiana Fever.
Another added, “Put Stephanie White on there for her inability to coach!”
Guard Ty Harris and backup center Damiris Dantas were also listed on the report. Both have been ruled out for the season with injuries. However, while fans are expressing their frustration with the injury report, it’s not the report itself that has them going off.
The Fever started the preseason with a win, but had a volatile time in their first eight regular-season games. But as the season progressed, everything became stable, and Indiana was finally performing like the star-studded team they are. So, entering the playoffs, fans had their hopes high even though they ended their regular season with a disappointing loss to the Minnesota Lynx.
In Game 1 of the playoffs against the Aces, Caitlin Clark committed six turnovers, while Kelsey Mitchell, who has been dropping 20+ points in the majority of games, was limited to just 12. The team committed 25 fouls and put together one of its worst defensive performances, and Clark ranked it “an F.”
Per CBS, the Fever had the worst defensive rating of the eight playoff teams, and that showed on Sunday. They allowed the Aces to shoot 59% from the field and 47% from three, as A’ja Wilson dropped 38 points. And that performance helps explain why the frustration has spilled over into the Fever’s social media posts.
“The responses to every post the Fever make, even the injury report, are hilarious. Are you getting the message yet?” one fan questioned.
Another wrote, “Thank God after tomorrow we won’t see this damn probable shit anymore nor Stephanie White, CC we love you, but we hates Stephanie White more.”
Coach White has been under scrutiny for her handling of the team throughout this season. So, after the recent loss, her postgame comments definitely didn’t help.
“I mean, it’s experience. Certainly, there’s no substitute for experience,” White said. “Oftentimes, you have to be humbled first. I mean, that’s life. You don’t always learn from the successes. You learn from being humbled.”
What White said didn’t sit right with many. The Fever and the Aces are locked in a three-game series, and dropping the first game of that series puts Indiana in a tough spot. So, the need to be “humbled” during a stretch where every game matters is certainly not the goal.
“2027 STATUS REPORT. Stephanie White – Hopeful (Terminated),” a fan jokingly wrote.
In the regular season, Caitlin Clark and her teammates went 2-1 against the Aces. But the first playoff game left fans worried. The next game on Tuesday is a do-or-die, and if the Fever lose, they will once again see their run put to an end by the Aces in the playoffs, as in 2025.
