Ever since her arrival at the Chicago Sky, Kamilla Cardoso has become a cornerstone for the franchise. She hoops, she supports. But she’s finally declared that her dominance isn’t just limited to the WNBA. She’s taking her talents to Project B.

Cardoso recently announced that she’s joining Project B, a new global 5-on-5 league launching in November 2026. Not a bad decision. In her announcement, Cardoso said she was excited to “travel, get to know new places,” and proudly represent Brazil. And Project B offers all of that.

The new league promises multimillion-dollar salaries, starting at $2 million, plus shared equity and tournaments across Asia, Europe, and Latin America. But the timing is striking, as the W is facing ongoing CBA negotiations and uncertainty about player salaries and offseason commitments. It comes as the players’ union pushes for improved revenue sharing and better pay structures.
