The Wings registered two wins on the back of a historic performance from Paige Bueckers and Co. as they defeated the Tempo on Sunday. As memorable as the performance was from Bueckers, her interaction with the reigning NBA MVP, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, is now doing the rounds on social media.

Gilgeous-Alexander and Bueckers dabbed it up along the sidelines, where both of them showed mutual admiration for each other and posted for pictures.
“Way to hoop. Keep going. Love your game,” Gilgeous-Alexander can be heard saying to Bueckers.
“Big fan, appreciate you,” Bueckers replied, and she wasn’t lying.
In fact, during the finals between the Thunder and the San Antonio Spurs, Bueckers had publicly shared how she learned a lot from watching Gilgeous-Alexander’s game.
“I mean, I take a lot from Shai’s games, just being able to get your spot consistently, and Steph [Stephon Castle], he’s my guy, so he’s done a good job defensively, but they’re really guarding him with five,” she said then.
While the win takes the Wings to a 13-8 record for the season, Bueckers has achieved a significant personal milestone to go with it. She has now scored at least 20 points while shooting at least 50% from the field in five straight games. The last time this happened was all the way back in 2003, when Katie Smith held the longest streak by a guard in WNBA history.
This performance was the 12th of the season where she has scored at least 20 points. This makes her current 22-point scoring streak over five consecutive games as well.

Bueckers finished the night by adding seven assists and three rebounds to her tally, as the Wings closed the game comfortably. Azzi Fudd added 17 points and two assists, which meant that Bueckers and Fudd added 62 percent of the team’s offense for the night.
It was a subpar outing for the Tempo, as they registered only 39% shooting from the field as compared to the Wings’ 44%. The Tempo never looked like mounting a real challenge to this composed Dallas team, as they did not take the lead at any point during the game. Dallas looked comfortably in control.
So, it was only natural that this interaction between Bueckers and Gilgeous-Alexander is gaining traction on the back of Bueckers’ historic night.
Bueckers remains integral to Dallas’ playmaking output this season. While she is the scoring leader of the team, she is enabling others around her to get on board as well.
