However, the injury bug bit them so hard that nobody expected them to even make the playoffs, let alone have a deep run. But led by Kelsey Mitchell and Aliyah Boston, the Fever kept defying the odds and made the playoffs. And now, as a reward for their career-best seasons, both Kelsey and Aliyah have been named to the 2025 All-WNBA Team.

After the season Kelsey Mitchell had, there was never any doubt that she would be named to the 2025 All-WNBA Team. She ended the season averaging her career best 20.2 points per game. But even more impressive than her scoring was her ability to lead the team through all the turmoil they had to go through. After numerous injuries to their guards, Kelsey Mitchell also took over the playmaking responsibilities. She ended the season with 3.4 assists per game, up from 1.8 per game in the previous season.

She also ended her season with a career-high in points (15 per game) and assists (3.7 per game). While her numbers might not be huge, her impact on the court and locker room sure was. Her impact was acknowledged by her head coach, Stephanie White, as well. After her incredible double-double performance against the Seattle Storm, Stephanie had called her the ‘Rock’ of the team.

Will the Indiana Fever re-sign Kelsey Mitchell?
As the Indiana Fever conducted their exit interviews, there was a recurring question to almost the entire roster: Will they be back in an Indiana Fever jersey next year? And rightly so. As things stand, the Fever have just three players signed for the next year. When Fever GM, Amber Cox, was asked about the next year’s signings, she made sure to let everyone know who the Indiana Fever will prioritize bringing back.

Her answer, “I’m going to sound like a broken record from last year. The priority will be Kelsey Mitchell, and making sure she remains in a Fever jersey.” The Indiana Fever re-signed Kelsey Mitchell on a Supermax contract last offseason and with the MVP-worthy season that she had, she will certainly command big dollars while re-signing.
