“KK (Khadijiah Cave) is playing the best basketball she’s played since she’s been here. It’s her leadership,” Kim Mulkey had said back in 2015. And rightfully so, through her journey at Baylor, she became the 33rd player in the program’s history to surpass 1,000 career points and ranked fourth all-time in field goal percentage (56.6 %). Then came the 2017 WNBA Draft, where she went undrafted, but her persistence paid off eventually, and in 2025, she signed a training camp with the Washington Mystics. Back in 2024, she even played two preseason games with the Atlanta Dream but failed to make the final roster cut. And now it appears that history is repeating itself. The Washington Mystics recently waived Khadijiah Cave after signing a training camp contract earlier with the team. As her chances of playing in the W this year look bleak, let us take a closer look at her financial status.

What is Khadijiah Cave’s net worth?

Khadijiah Cave’s net worth is undisclosed to the public. There is no official data to ascertain just how much Cave’s actual net worth is. She has played a fair bit in different international leagues, but we can only surmise by looking at her contracts, salaries, and endorsements. Let us dig deeper into her contract with the Washington Mystics to have a better understanding of her net worth.

Khadijiah Cave’s Contract Breakdown

Cave has previously signed multiple training camp contracts in the league with the Los Angeles Sparks, Connecticut Sun, Atlanta Dream, and now the Washington Mystics. Although none of her contacts converted into playing contracts, Cave has not given up on her dream to play in the league. Her recent training camp contract with the Mystics was the league standard non-guaranteed minimum wage contract.

What is Khadijiah Cave’s salary?

As discussed earlier, Khadijiah Cave has been waived by the Washington Mystics and will have her training camp contract voided. Had that not been the case, Cave would have made $66,079 as her salary for the season. Cave will most probably go back to playing in international leagues and will earn her checks from there. Although her previous salaries internationally remain undisclosed, we can only assume that she will earn a decent wage, as most American players end up making modest wages internationally.

As Cave would have made a little over $66,000 had she played for the Mystics, let us see why her contract with the Mystics was voided.

Why were Khadijiah Cave’s contracts waived?

It is difficult for players in the WNBA to secure a spot on the team. As team rosters are limited to 12 players before the start of the regular season, teams have to make the hard decision of waiving players and making cuts to finalize their rosters. Cave is facing a similar scenario as Mystics have to make tough calls while finalizing their roster. There are no particular reasons why players like Cave would not make the roster, except for the fact that teams have to make cuts and finalize their rosters.

Cave has been playing remarkably in international leagues and has shown flashes of her ability by putting up big numbers. Let us look at how her career has charted until now.

Cave came back to the WNBA preseason the following year and signed a training camp contract with the Connecticut Sun, but was waived off for similar reasons. She went on to play in Israel for the next four seasons, playing for various teams, including Hapoel Petah Tikva, A.S. Ramat Hasharon, and Maccabi Bnot Ashdod. Cave went on to play in the Romanian league for ACS Sepsi SIC in 2022. She later played in the Turkish league for Tarsus Belediyesi Mersin, where she averaged 21 points and 11.8 rebounds per game.

Following her success in the Turkish league, she was signed with a training camp contract by the Atlanta Dream in 2024, but again failed to make the final roster cut. She was signed by the Washington Mystics in 2025 with a training camp contract, but was again let go for the decisive roster adjustments.

Cave will most likely return to playing in the international leagues. However, she seems determined to one day play in the WNBA and might be able to crack the final roster of one of the teams. Let us see how Cave gets on in her professional journey.
