It’s the battle of David vs Goliath at Tuesday’s Las Vegas Aces vs Chicago Sky game. The Aces enter this game with a rampant 14-game win streak, cementing their bid for the third title. They just crushed Chicago at home on Sunday with a 14-point win. And they will be waiting in T-Mobile Arena to do it again and further boost their seeding for the postseason. But don’t count Chicago out just yet.

While they are out of the postseason picture, the Chicago Sky have earned the reputation of a giant-killer team. They have taken down powerhouses like Minnesota and New York. And with Aces in front of them, they have a chance to complete a three-peat of killing powerhouses. So the game can go either way. But before that, let’s take a look at the injury report and the projected starting five for both teams.

Las Vegas Aces vs Chicago Sky: Who will secure the victory?
For Chicago, it is a grudge match and a way to assert itself as a team that can take down powerhouses. For Las Vegas, it is a chance to secure a higher seed in the playoffs, granting them further home-court advantage.
The Chicago roster is riddled with injuries and infighting, and it shows up in their record. They enter this game with an abysmal 2-8 record in their past ten games. The Aces do not even need to disclose their past ten-game record, as the only thing they have done in August is win. Las Vegas has a +7 differential on points scored over Chicago. Their marquee player, A’ja Wilson, is scripting an MVP story herself.

On September 8, 2025, A’ja Wilson notched her 13th game with 30 or more points in a single season, setting a new WNBA record. She surpassed former record holders Jewell Loyd and Maya Moore, who had 12 such games each. Now compare that to the marquee player of Chicago, Angel Reese, and the reality becomes clear. In no way are we saying Reese is not up to the mark; she even surpasses Wilson in the rebounds tally.

But while Wilson is bringing her team together, Reese’s words had led to a half-game ban against her. That sort of locker room instability won’t work in the Sky’s favor. But leaving these off-court instances aside, the on-court reality is also grim for Chicago. Furthermore, their lead scorers and assisters fall halfway through to what Las Vegas’s leaders are averaging. Due to all these factors, the scales lean heavily in favor of the Aces. Even ESPN Analytics gives them an 83.5 percent chance to win this game. However, all Chicago needs is this 16.5 percent chance to take down giants.
