Caitlin Clark is swiftly climbing the ladder to even more popularity than she already has. With this, more lucrative deals are flowing her way as she enters the WNBA. But does it mean that she is overshadowing the 2x MVP A’ja Wilson? Although Wilson did have ties with Nike, she never got a signature line of her own. However, rumors are making rounds that the sports athleisure mogul will extend a deal to its previous NIL holder for her own shoe line. Consequently, Wilson’s fans are pooling up to comment on their thoughts on social media platforms.

According to the Sporting News’ latest X post, the NCAA’s scoring queen will soon join the other two active WNBA players with a signature shoe line. New York Liberty star Sabrina Ionescu and the 4x WNBA champion Breanna Stewart are the two names with their own signature shoes. The contract follows up on Clark’s NIL deal with Nike that ended after the completion of the NCAA tournament.

Shams Charania, senior lead NBA insider for the Athletic, further explained the deal in his latest article. Evidently, it is going to be an eight-figure deal that also includes a Clark signature shoe line. With all the hype around Indiana’s No. 1 pick on Monday’s draft, how is A’ja Wilson reacting to it all? While we may not know what the inspiration behind her latest tweet was, she is keeping a positive mindset. Just hours after Clark’s deal became public, Wilson shared a cryptic post.

Does this mean that there just might be a brewing deal between the sensational Aces star and Nike? While we don’t know that, her fan’s disappointment with her not getting this before Clark is quite obvious from the reactions.

Wilson too has tasted the water at Nike before. Just last year, she received a brand-new pair of Cosmic Unity sneakers line to promote. However, it is not her signature shoe. Hence, A’ja’s fans are commenting on Caitin Clark receiving a mouthwatering deal from the apparel giant with her debut game as a Fever still a month to go. For the same reason, an X user said that it was a laughable fact to learn.

“A’Ja Wilson being best WNBA don’t have signature shoes that crazy.” Last year’s WNBA title game is also not forgotten by any. An X user commented saying that with what A’ja Wilson did to Stewie and the Liberty in that game, she should have been up there in the list.

“Aja Wilson not being here is laughably bad… especially with what she did to Breanna just last year.” One of the basketball followers was quick to point out that The Sporting News did not add ‘Ace’ to the list of active hoopers in the WNBA. They also mentioned that she indeed has a long-going signature line with Adidas which features everything from basketball to wearables.

Pretty sure Candace Parker has signature shoes with Adidas. She’s an active WNBA player.” Another Wilson fan corrected everyone saying that Wilson does have a signature line with Nike. However, seems like he is also mistaken as the Cosmic Unity sneaker line only features the Aces star as its face but does not have a direct relation in creating the said piece.

“As of now, Aja has the Comic Unity 3s as her shoe. I think they working on it. Matter of fact, I have a pair. They are so damn comfortable.” Looks like the fanatics have made up their mind that Nike should indeed get Wilson to sign a deal. With Clark in this game too, it will be interesting which shoes the fans like more. Do you think Clark will follow Ionescu and bring a unisex shoe line?
