As the last quarter of the 2026 WNBA regular season is heading to its end, the MVP conversation has heated up. While A’ja Wilson remains at the top, it’s been Caitlin Clark who has become the most-talked-about name on the list. However, WNBA analyst Rosalina Lee says the lack of conversation in the mainstream media has done a real disservice to Clark’s best season.

Clark is in the midst of one of the best stretches of her 2026 campaign. The Fever has been on a roll, winning 8 of her last 10 games. Meanwhile, during the same stretch, Clark has averaged 24.4 points, 9.3 assists, and 3.6 rebounds per game. She has also shot 48.7% from the field, including 38.8% from the 3-point line. Ignoring Clark could only be out of ignorance, according to Lee.

“If you do not think that Caitlin Clark is in MVP talks, then you are just buying into the nonsense that ESPN and every mainstream outlet has been selling you,” Lee said in a video posted on her YouTube channel.

Lee added that aside from Clark, four players were “being talked about in MVP conversations except Caitlin Clark because she had a rough start. And that is what’s constantly being focused on.”

Clark started her season with the second-highest odds to win the award. However, since then, reigning MVP A’ja Wilson, Minnesota’s rookie, Olivia Miles, Dallas’ star Paige Bueckers, and Mitchell have all been part of the conversation. Clark is also among the top five, but she has mostly taken the fourth spot, behind Miles and Bueckers.

In fact, earlier this month, WNBA on ION completely left Clark out of the MVP debate, while including A’ja Wilson, Miles, Bueckers, Mitchell, and New York Liberty’s Breanna Stewart.

Clark did have a rough start in her third season. In her first eight games, the Fever held a 4-4 record. However, since then, the 2024 Rookie of the Year has proved why she deserves superstar status in the league. During a five-game stretch, she averaged 29.4 points while Indiana went 5-0.

However, Lee pointed out that in the last 11 games, Clark has scored 280 points, averaging 25.5 points per game and nine rebounds, compared to A’ja Wilson’s 279 points and 9 rebounds in the same stretch.

“What Caitlin is doing for the Indiana Fever, especially as of late, is really taking charge, really stepping up…I’m not saying that she is MVP or anything just yet, but you cannot discount her from this conversation,” Lee added in the video.

Caitlin Clark also deserves more conversation for what she has done with her minutes this season. She leads the league’s best offense, scoring 40.7 points per game, significantly higher (35.2) than the second player on the list.

The Fever star is third in the league in scoring and first in assists, while the Fever has held the 4th spot in the rankings. Her 22 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 8.3 assists don’t tell the entirety of her impact.
