The last time Chicago Sky faced the Los Angeles Sparks, a certain Kamilla Cardoso had a career-high 27 points to help them get their 4th win of the season. That game turned out to be her last before joining the Brazilian national team for the FIBA AmeriCup. Since then, the Sky have played only one game. But it’s safe to say that Angel Reese and Co. missed the presence of their towering center in the loss against the Golden State Valkyries. They will look to get back to winning games, but their next opponents won’t be an easy nut to crack.
The Los Angeles Sparks might not be living up to the hype that came with Kelsey Plum’s arrival, but they finally broke through with their fifth win of the season. And it was a huge one! It came against the Indiana Fever. Interestingly, both the Sparks and the Sky have just one win in their last five outings, making it even harder to predict the winner!

Where to watch Angel Reese go head-to-head against Kelsey Plum
You can watch these two teams clash on Sunday, June 29, 2025, at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, California. The tip-off is scheduled for 4 p.m. ET. For those unable to attend the game, don’t worry, we have got you covered on that front as well! The game will be broadcast on ESPN. It can also be viewed by taking the WNBA pass.
Injury report: Los Angeles Sparks vs Chicago Sky
For the Sparks, it’s the same frustrating story on the injury front. Cameron Brink remains sidelined as she recovers from her ACL injury, with no clear timeline for return. Rae Burrell, who’s been out since the season opener with a leg injury, is still unavailable. And adding to the list, veteran guard Odyssey Sims has also been ruled out due to personal reasons. Head coach Lynne Roberts will be hoping to get them back as quickly as possible.
Things aren’t smooth for Coach Tyler Marsh either! With veteran guard Courtney Vandersloot sidelined for the rest of the season due to an ACL injury, the backcourt has taken a massive hit. And as mentioned earlier, Kamilla Cardoso remains unavailable as she continues to represent Brazil in the FIBA AmeriCup.

Prediction: Can Angel Reese and Co. win without Cardoso?
On paper, this match is extremely hard to predict. Both teams have lost 11 games a piece, and their last 5-game record is identical as well. Both teams have just won 1 game in their last 5 games. But ESPN has a clear winner in mind. According to them, the Sparks have a 62.7 % chance of coming away with a win.

And, truth be told, the stats support ESPN’s prediction. The Sparks sit 7th in scoring, averaging 81.6 points per game. Defensively, they’re 11th, conceding 86.5 points a night. Those aren’t eye-popping numbers by any means, but still better than the Chicago Sky’s average.

Angel Reese and Co. are ranked 12th in the league for both points scored and points conceded per game this season. They are scoring 77.9 while conceding 87.9 per game this season. To make matters worse, they’ll be without Kamilla Cardoso, who was a game-changer in the reverse fixture. That absence alone shifts the balance of this game dramatically.
