The iconic influence that A’ja Wilson has on women’s basketball is immense. The 2023 WNBA Finals MVP has had her fair share of contributions in transforming the sport and taking it to new heights. However, her charisma is not limited to the hardwood. On multiple occasions, she has delivered some very powerful fashion statements. The most recent one is the platinum silver hair she rocked on the Aces’ 2024 media day.

In order to get an in-depth analysis of this sporting role model, FOX TV Host Paloma Villicana invited the Las Vegas hairstylist Myesha J. An association that has lasted since Wilson was a rookie, Myesha opened up about her experience working with the 2× WNBA champion. She said, “It is amazing. If I can just say that. I don’t think words can explain how amazing it is, from the beginning till now. Watching her grow, watching her evolve. Just us changing her hair over the years. I just love it.”

Earlier, A’ja Wilson gave a shoutout to her hair stylist and make-up artist during her interaction with Villicana on the media day. She reflected on their contributions since 2018 when she was fresh out of college. Wilson said, “They’ve been with me since my rookie year. They just went through everything with me. Make sure they’re always here with me. I’m thankful to them. They’ve taken time away from their family. I thank them so much.”

The celebrity hairstylist also spilled some beans about the viral media day look of the 2× WNBA MVP.

After helping Wilson go through four looks in one on her book tour, Myesha J delivered another masterstroke for the Aces’ media day. She reflected on Wilson’s vision behind the look and expressed, “The vision behind this was when they changed the uniforms to the uniforms they have now. She was like ‘I wanna go silver, I wanna go platinum for media day.’  She’s usually the creative with her hair. I just put the vision together.” 

There is no denying that whatever A’ja Wilson does becomes a trend. Over the years, she has set social media on fire courtesy of the various highlight reel moments off the court. The aforementioned episode was just one of them. Fans will be desperately waiting for what’s next she brings to the table. Possibly, it can gain the same traction as the ones before it.
