Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry is one of the biggest stars in the NBA today. The three-point shooting phenom has changed the league as we know it with his shooting prowess being second to none in the NBA. During his time in the Bay area Curry has received ample help under the stewardship of coach Steve Kerr who is also the player with the highest 3-point shooting percentage in NBA history. But while Stephen Curry has eclipsed shooters in the NBA by a mile there is one WNBA talent that could give him a run for his money. NY Liberty star Sabrina Ionescu recently broke the 3-point shooting contest record held by Curry as the 25-year-old won the competition with a 92% shooting accuracy.

This feat was extraordinary to say the least as no NBA star in the history of the 3-point shooting contest has come close to crossing the 85% threshold. Although Ionescu may have broken Curry’s NBA record the WNBA star recently revealed her shooting prowess in the gym and it pales in comparison to the 4x NBA champion.

Congratulating her Reddick then asked Ionescu if she had ever shot the ball better to which she replied, “I don’t want to talk about it because I am not over it.”

Revealing that she had shot better during a practice session the former Duck’s icon stated, I was going 5 spots 10 shots and I got to 49 out of 50. This record although plausible is quite pale compared to Stephen Curry who famously hit 103 straight threes at the Warriors facility.

Despite paling in comparison to Stephen Curry’s shooting record in the gym, though, Ionescu can still have the last laugh as the guard holds the record for most shots made in the 3-point contest across the WNBA and the NBA.
