Despite having incredible young talent on the roster, the Washington Mystics are already out of the playoffs. But they still got a chance to have a beautiful ending after losing nine games in a row. “I think there have been a lot of lessons this whole season,” Citron said last Sunday. “Just learning how to deal with the physicality on the dribble and not letting them take me out of what I want to do.”

But can the Mystics grab a win? Doing so won’t be as easy as expected. For their season finale, they gotta take up the NY Liberty next, who’re already locked in at the No. 5 playoff seed. And the worst? NY has won all three previous meetings they had with the Mystics, the latest being 89-63 on August 28. Still, the Mystics got a chance, though!

Injury Report: NY Liberty vs Washington Mystics

The NY Liberty has had multiple injuries this season to its stars, including Sabrina Ionescu and Breanna Stewart. But, they’re fully prepared for the postseason as 100% players are healthy on their roster. The Mystics aren’t that lucky, though; they’ve got two players out for their season finale.

Can the Washington Mystics knock off the NY Liberty in the finale?

No doubt, Liberty’s got an edge in this game. They’re averaging 84.5 points per game, which is 2.8 points more than what the Mystics allow. Meanwhile, the Mystics are averaging 77.4 points per game. While the Mystics are ranked 11th across the W for scoring, New York is sixth in points allowed per game.

Both teams rebound at nearly the same rate, but Liberty’s got 0.5 more rebounds per game. They’re also averaging a higher 45.3% shooting percentage from the field, a 0.8% increase from what the Mystics make. So, it’s understandable that ESPN has given them an 86% chance to win the upcoming matchup.

Still, we just can’t count them out yet. The Mystics have an incredibly talented roster, with Sonia Citron owning the top spot in scoring with 15 PPG. Even Kiki Iriafen and Sug Sutton are no less, as they lead the team in rebounds and assists. While Kiki’s averaging 8.6 rebounds, Sutton’s got 3.9 assists per game. All these players just add to the chances of the Mystics winning the game. But can they stand against Liberty’s experienced roster?
