“Excited to take the next step and join the Nike family! I am truly honored and blessed for this opportunity.” When she signed a multi-year deal with the brand in April 2020, little did Sabrina Ionescu know about her impact on the world of sneakers. Her sneaker line, in collaboration with Nike, has cooked up a storm in the basketball world. While the Sabrina 1 became popular among the pros, it was the second sneakers in the collection that made the loudest noise.
Sabrina Ionescu’s signature collection has championed gender inclusivity from the start, making her the first women’s basketball player to release a unisex shoe in 2023. That bold move led NBA standouts like Jrue Holiday, Mikal Bridges, Cade Cunningham, Corey Kispert, and Payton Pritchard to lace up the Sabrina 1. But it was the Sabrina 2 that truly took off, becoming the most-worn shoe of the 2024–25 season and expanding into kids’ sizes. Now, Nike is back with another big reveal.
The much-anticipated Sabrina 3 is here! Sole Retriever confirmed the drop on X (formerly Twitter), sharing two images with the caption: Sharing two images on X (former Twitter), the post read, “OFFICIAL: Nike unveils @sabrina_i20’s third signature shoe, the Sabrina 3. Nike has officially announced the launch of the Sabrina 3, the latest addition to Sabrina Ionescu’s signature line. Interestingly, the reveal comes just hours before the 5-foot-11 point guard is set to take on A’ja Wilson in Game 2 of a pivotal three-game series on her home court, adding extra spotlight to an already high-stakes matchup.
Moreover, the shoes narrate a unique aspect of Ionescu’s life.”This shoe represents so much of me, from the vertical Swoosh that we’ve had since the Sabrina 1 to the design touches personal to me,” the player said. “I hope it inspires all hoopers, especially young girls, helping them continue to break down barriers and believe in themselves.”
The shoe’s upper body features intricate mesh pleats and embroidery inspired by traditional Romanian textile weaving and architectural patterns, echoing the ornate designs found in Romanian folk art and buildings. In fact, the swoosh design too has a symbolic meaning! The vertical, off-axis Swoosh rests atop these embroidered motifs and links Ionescu’s heritage with her narrative of shattering barriers in women’s sports.

Sabrina Ionescu, of the New York Liberty acknowledges the fans, Thursday, October 24, 2024, in Manhattan.
Designed keeping the point guard in mind, the mesh plates provide enhanced support to the midfoot. Moreover, it includes a lightweight outsole in a transparent finish for a sleek, air look and an injected pylon carrier foam seated above for extra overall support. As a “shifty guard” according to Ben, the latest design had to incorporate features that aid her gameplay. “To be quick on her feet we had to look at toolkits for her style of play,” Ben had said.
Talking about the features of the lighter version, Ben said, “The Sabrina 3 builds on the consistency we’ve established with Sabrina’s first two signature silhouettes while evolving the look and feel of the shoe to match her needs on the court and further reflect her personal story and style.”
The insole of the sneakers includes a softer Cushlon 3.0 core foam spread across the shoe, along with a midfoot shank pillow. But what really sets the shoe apart is its enhanced air zoom for better forefoot responsiveness. Slated for a July 24, 2025, release, you can find the shoes on Nike’s official website and at select third-party stores starting at $135.

The design features a gradient blend of Soft Yellow into Orange Trace. The hues naturally transition from a pastel yellow at the toe into a deeper orange towards the heel. They further feature a bold, black swoosh on the outer corners, cementing the brand identity. Moreover, the tongue and the heel have the bold initials S and I etched, respectively.
As Sabrina Ionescu prepares to welcome A’ja Wilson & Co. to the Barclays Center in Brooklyn in a few hours from now, it will be exciting to watch which team takes the win. While Liberty is currently leading 1-0 with an impressive 92-78 win, it will be exciting to see if A’ja Wilson & Co. can avenge the loss and bring a victory home. Besides, things looked faulty after the Liberty faced a crushing 79-70 defeat against the Seattle Storm.
