Putting all the criticism about a dip in form and all off-court controversies aside, Caitlin Clark has roared back into life. Clark just dropped a season- and career-high 45 points against the Seattle Storm on Saturday. Nike wasted no time in celebrating their marquee player setting yet another WNBA record, posting a tribute video, as per brkicks.

The Gainbridge Fieldhouse witnessed Clark set the record as the first player in WNBA history with 40 points and 10 assists in a game. Clark finished the night with 45 points, 10 assists, and 4 steals, shooting 11 of 18 from the field and converting 6 of her 10 shots from beyond the arc.
The win took Indiana to 15-10 for the season, and both Clark and the Fever fans will heave a huge sigh of relief. Clark had seen a dip in form since coming back from a back injury. Coming into the match, she had a stat line of just 11.3 points, 5.0 assists, and 4.7 rebounds per game, taken over the previous three games before the Storm match.
So there was little expectation of a record-setting performance from Clark before the match. However, she surpassed her previous best of 35 points, which she set during her rookie season on September 15, 2024, against the Dallas Wings.
Surprisingly, the Fever did not take control of the game initially and trailed by three points at one point. However, as the match progressed, Indiana’s explosive offense was a little too much for a struggling Storm team. Dominique Malonga and Flau’jae Johnson put up 28 and 16 points, respectively, but it was simply not enough. The win should be a great morale booster for the Fever team, as they head into the All-Star break.
The record-setting night was an eye-catcher for another reason, as Clark was wearing her new signature Nike shoes.
Clark Is Showcasing New Colorways Of Her Signature Shoes
Clark was seen wearing the white version of her Nike signature shoe, the ‘Caitlin 1,’ in the game against the Storm. She had debuted the white colorway just a day before, during the Indiana Fever’s Wednesday night matchup against the Golden State Valkyries.
This white colorway keeps things simple and offers a very clean look with a textured white upper and a blue swoosh to go with it. This was the third different Caitlin 1 colorway that Clark has worn during a game, and it is highly unlikely to be the last.
Before this white colorway, Clark has worn the blue and yellow versions of her Caitlin 1. She wore a new, fourth version featuring a purple colorway in Fever’s Saturday night matchup against the New York Liberty.
Clark has expressed a good amount of appreciation towards the little details present in her signature line.
“I think the fact that the outside part is C’s and the inside part is 2’s, but you can only tell it close up,” Clark said, as per a post by WNBA.
Speculation and excitement are rife among the Fever fans, as they are hoping Clark could drop yet another version during the upcoming All-Star Game.
The Caitlin 1 is not yet available commercially to fans. It is scheduled to be launched on October 1, priced at $140. The fans are already making plans to land the shoes early, as it is expected to be a sell-out soon after its launch.
Let’s see if we spot Clark featuring yet another colorway in the All-Star Game.
