The Ace in the hole-Alysha Clark

The Aces looked a formidable side throughout the season. No team was able to figure them out defensively or offensively. A major reason behind that was the presence of perhaps the best combination of the WNBA — A’ja Wilson, Kelsey Plum, and Chelsea Gray. However, there was one player who was contributing from behind the scenes.

The skillful No. 7 Alysha Clark. The talented forward shot 44.4% of her field goals of which 38.6% were scored from a 3-point range. In addition to this, she averaged 6.7 points to go with 3.4 rebounds and 1.1 assists per game.

Clark provided the much-needed floor-spacing to the Aces after Dearica Hamby was traded to the Los Angeles Sparks. Furthermore, in the absence of Candace Parker, Alysha showcased her defensive leadership. A ton of credit should also be given to their head coach Becky Hammon who knew how to utilize Alysha’s skill set.
