It’s All-Star Weekend, and Paige Bueckers, in her first-ever appearance, isn’t letting the spotlight slip away. First, she turned heads with a bold fashion statement, a vibrant Marni cardigan paired with Prada shoes, as she strutted the orange carpet at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. Well, it all comes as PB didn’t let her former UConn teammate choose her pick, as she puts it: “Not this time. I usually let her stick to the basketball hooping shoes.” Then, she took the whole lot of advantage of the event and said it loud and clear: Were she and former UConn teammate Azzi Fudd just friends? Not really!
After months of speculation and subtle hints, Paige Bueckers has officially confirmed what fans have long suspected — Azzi Fudd is her girlfriend. The Dallas Wings rookie and WNBA All-Star made the announcement on the Orange Carpet ahead of the 2025 WNBA All-Star Weekend in Indianapolis, putting an end to all the guessing games. “Azzi Fudd,” she declared when the interviewer led with, “girlfriend reveal, it’s…”
And yes, while it’s official but we already knew it was coming soon. I mean, why not? They had their relationship quietly unfold on social media, through matching fits, selfies, and viral moments like Fudd’s phone case that read “Paige Bueckers’ girlfriend”.

Over the past year, the two have become one of women’s basketball’s most beloved duos. From FaceTime calls featuring cowboy hats to holding hands at Wings games and repping each other with matching “A” and “P” necklaces. Not just that, Azzi even showed up courtside in a Wings jersey, making it clear her support for Bueckers extends far beyond their college days.
Remember their viral bill parody? That was when Fudd captioned it, “Princess treatment every time I’m with her #spoiled,” complete with angel and heart emojis. It even made The Sports Gossip podcast hosts Charlotte Wilder and Madeline Hill wonder aloud, “That’s not a trend you do with your best friend … especially the emoji use. Those emojis are not platonic.”
Even while one transitions to pros and Fudd remains in Storrs, the message still gets across, mostly through TikTok. Well, just a few weeks ago, PB dropped a lip-sync TikTok to artist Dave Starlight, focusing on lyrics like: “I like mine obsessed, clingy. If she don’t miss me, miss me. If she don’t miss me, history. If she don’t miss me, it’s a mystery.” Then, Fudd responded with a TikTok video that felt like a full-blown long-distance couple moment.
Her choice? Rod Wave’s Letter from Houston, with lyrics that read: “I wrote this song for you, so you should pay attention. I was just staring at the ceiling and got in my feelings. Reminiscing about us fighting, f——, and chilling. Right now, I’m riding through Memphis, passing through the city. I’m with my n—–, but I miss you girl, don’t get it twisted. And I cannot wait ’til I see you, hug you, and kiss you.” So yes, PB’ bombshell may have officially dropped just hours ago, but the signs?

They’ve been there all along, ever since Paige Bueckers and her gf’s rivalry days!
Well, it all started long before Paige Bueckers ever wore a cowboy hat and boots, or before Azzi Fudd returned to Storrs for one final run at the championship. For them, their beautifully written basketball fairytale began back in 2017, long before TikToks and WNBA Draft nights, when the two were competing for a spot on the U16 National Team.

Well, that’s when Azzi had underestimated Paige, famously saying, “This white girl got nothing on me, I don’t need to worry about her.” But that quickly changed when PB proved herself on the court, and off of it, marking the beginning of a rivalry-turned-friendship that eventually evolved into a sisterhood. And, that bond would follow them all the way to UConn.

And when Paige was drafted No. 1 overall in April 2025, Azzi—still in college—was right by her side as Bueckers’ plus-one. Well, that moment stood out, especially when Paige walked over to their table and quickly said, “I’m mic’ed up! I’m mic’ed up!” cutting Azzi off mid-sentence. Whether it was a heads-up or a signal, Azzi just smiled and held back.

Then came the TikTok wherein the UConn standout appeared alongside Suni Lee and Anna Frey, dancing like usual. But this time, a new accessory had fans zooming in: a heart-shaped necklace with the number 5, Paige’s number. Coincidence? Most didn’t think so. And now? It’s finally official as another beloved couple has entered the W.
