Paige Bueckers has become a sensation in women’s basketball. She is likely to be part of the United States National Team for the FIBA World Cup Qualifiers, a squad that will also see Dearica Hamby and Kelsey Plum stepping into leadership roles. But aside from her professional feats, a heartfelt interaction between Dearica Hamby’s daughter, Amaya, and players Paige Bueckers and Azura Stevens has now bewitched fans.

Amaya wanted to sell a few copies of ‘My Mom, the MVP’, her co-authored book alongside her mother Dearica, on the eve of her 9th birthday, and found customers in Bueckers and Azura.

The mother-daughter duo got the idea of doing this on a flight. “A year ago on a flight, we started brainstorming goals for the new year. Amaya joked about us writing a book together… and it was nearly finished by the time we landed.”
“This book is non-fiction, rooted in real love, real moments, and real conversations.” She also mentioned Amaya’s deep interest in her own character, expressing how her daughter cared a lot about “her French braids” on the cover.
Aside from Bueckers, Natisha Hiedeman, and Lexie Hull cheered, while DeWanna Bonner also showered love by sending heart emojis on social media.

The rise in popularity of the WNBA has also provided a platform for players to set an example for future stars and children. One fan highlighted,” Female role models are so important and powerful.”
Basketball, in particular, has been in dire need of role models. With the rise of the sport, players like Paige Bueckers, Caitlin Clark, and more continue to pave the way for other athletes, aspiring stars, and also children who wish to be like them one day.

One fan in particular could not help but notice Paige Bueckers’ outfit. “Love this! & in her Harry Potter pjs,” they said.
Representing the UConn hoodie, with a beanie and pajamas, Paige Bueckers’ casual outfit was a feature in itself. Bueckers is no less than a wizard on the court. While Bueckers does not have a direct connection to the fabled series of books and movies, WNBA star Breanna Stewart had collaborated with Puma for the release of Harry Potter-themed shoes.
“I adore how these women are all family. ❤️ One woman’s kiddo has so many aunties!,” one fan exclaimed.

The players have been vocal about being able to connect with players on a personal level during Unrivaled. And this just goes to show how tight-knit the group has become, despite playing for different teams and rivals on the court. Also, for a child to have so many supportive women in her life is a blessing.
One fan could not stop themselves from exploring another possibility. “The type of content if Paige part of the Sparks,” they said.
Well, the Los Angeles Sparks are three-time WNBA champions but have not managed to qualify for the WNBA Playoffs for five seasons in a row now. They are also set to lose key guard Kelsey Plum, who will enter Free Agency.

While the Dallas Wings are unlikely to let Paige Bueckers leave anytime soon, a move to a big market like Los Angeles could work in her favor, while aiding in the franchise’s resurgence. And, with content like this, Paige Bueckers is bound to be a hit, anyway.
