

Australian professional basketball player Liz Cambage has often been in the news for her controversial decisions and conduct on and off the court. What did Cambage do
Liz Cambage posted 2 stories on Instagram for Ashdod following an attack by Hamas on the city. On Monday she spread awareness among 1,200,000 people with a ?Pray for this to end? caption. She also posted a team picture of Ashdod reminiscing about the enjoyable time she spent with her colleagues. Thus, Cambage encourages people to pray for peace between the two regions.

For the unversed, a war broke out between Israel and Hamas, the group that controls the controversial Gaza Strip. Following the horrendous attack, Israel too plunged into retaliatory fire. The conflict has almost every country divided based on their support to different regions. One such attack also took place in Ashdod, a city south of the capital- Tel Aviv.
Cambage had earlier exited the Los Angeles Spark of the WNBA league after playing only 25 games during the 2022 season. She departed after a humiliating 84-66 loss to her former team Las Vegas Aces. Following the tough decision, Cambage agreed to join the Maccabi Bnot Ashdod of the Israeli Female Basketball Premier League. As per Soccer Stand, Cambage?s team Maccabi Bnot Ashdod advanced to the league’s Finals only to be upended by Elitzur Ramla.
Overall, the 32-year-old performance brought the best out of her new team. Her side also had three other former WNBA players namely: Natisha Hiedeman, Shatori Walker-Kimbrough, and Kalani Brown. Overall, as per Asia Basket Cambage averaged 19 points with 1.8 assists per contest and 11.5 rebounds per game.

What was the controversy during the pre-games of Olympics
Meanwhile, Cambage had to skip the Olympics post a pre-game niggle with Nigerian team players. The London-born as per speculations had elbowed a Nigerian player and slapped another one before being allegedly involved in a racist incident which left the Opals as well as the Nigerian players in splits. For the record, Cambage herself shares an ancestry with the Nigerians from her father?s side.
