Just last month, when Angel Reese and the Chicago Sky were desperate to climb out of their early-season rut at 3–10, a lighthearted moment during the team’s shootaround caught everyone’s attention. It came during the finale of the Sky’s warmups, where—as many W teams do—they wrapped up with a half-court shooting contest. It was then that Rebecca Allen nailed the shot and won the challenge. But not everyone was thrilled with the outcome, especially Angel Reese, as she turned to teammate and booed her, clearly not impressed. But, then, Sky penned, “Let the haters be your motivators, Bec.” on X. Hilarious, right? But the real comedy isn’t just Reese’s displeasure, as even her celebration gets people on the floor!!

It all happened in Chicago’s game against the Dallas Wings, wherein Bec lit it up with 27 points, while Reese racked up another double-double—15 points and 11 rebounds—as the Sky powered to an 87–76 win. And while Allen was just one point shy of her career high, going 9-of-13 from the floor and 5-of-7 from beyond the arc, Reese didn’t forget to celebrate!

So, she ran up to Allen after the game and literally picked her up in celebration. Yep, Chi-Town Barbie scooped up Bec like a kid, and Allen’s reaction was priceless. “Oh, wild… I was so embarrassed. I really like Angel. And her picking me up? She knows I’d be embarrassed by that—that’s why she did it!” Allen laughed afterward. “It was a lot of fun. I didn’t expect it at all, but it speaks to the chemistry we’ve got on this team.”

Makes sense, right? You can’t blame Angel. After all, she had just extended her double-double streak to seven games, though her historic run of 15+ rebound games ended at six. Still, for Reese, it’s more about team wins than personal records. And this was indeed a huge win for the Sky, who snapped their two-game losing run while condemning the Wings to their second straight loss.

Chicago led by as many as 15 points at one stage in the second half and shot 50.9% from the field, compared to Dallas’ 36%. And while Wings made a late push, cutting the deficit to six, Allen’s clutch three long jumpers in the final 2:25 of the second quarter gave the Sky the breathing room they needed, especially with key players like Kamilla Cardoso and Courtney Vandersloot sidelined.

So yes, Angel Reese may be gracing the NBA 2K26 W Edition cover with her upcoming Reebok signature shoe, but her real power lies in the way she uplifts her team on and off the court. And if you thought this was the first time Reese went out of her way to support Allen, well… it’s not!

Angel Reese as the leader, calm and cleaner!!

We’ve often seen Angel Reese going head-to-head with aggressive defenders and, yes, even the occasional bullies. But in a rare turn of events, the Chicago Sky’s matchup with the LA Sparks brought out a different side of her—this time, as a peacemaker. It all unfolded when Sparks forward Bec Allen and Sky rookie Rickea Jackson got tangled up under the rim while going after a rebound.

As Allen came over the top of Rickea, the Jackson was visibly frustrated and quickly rose to confront Allen, looking unusually angry. And that’s when the Chi-town Barbie stepped in. Angel Reese moved swiftly to separate her teammate from the conflict, gently pushing Jackson away from escalating the situation.

Though Reese looked momentarily startled—on the edge of retaliating herself—she kept her composure. A rare sight indeed! Meanwhile, Jackson couldn’t stop confronting Allen, who had already fallen to the ground. Still, it was Reese’s calm intervention that de-escalated the moment and prevented things from spiraling. And she did all this knowing the risk, after all, she’s seen firsthand how stepping into a heated moment can lead to a technical foul.

It happened earlier in the season when Aliyah Boston intervened during Reese’s altercation with CC in the season opener. But for the Chicago Sky star, leadership comes first. Because sometimes, leading the team doesn’t mean scoring or shouting—it means keeping your cool and uplifting your teammates. And as any good locker room would tell you, leadership like that is worth celebrating!
