It’s hard to argue against the idea that the Chicago Sky’s Angel Reese is quickly becoming the new face of the WNBA. But, it’s not just her on-court talent that’s catching everyone’s attention; her off-court ventures have been just as exciting. In fact, there were already some rumors out there of Reese’s new project with a company that makes the rookie’s favorite candies. Well, those whispers just became reality with the latest official announcement.

The 22-year-old-forward has secured an endorsement deal which makes her the brand ambassador of The Hershey Company. The rookie along with a $40 billion worth company, will release a Reese’s branded apparel collection, with the first drop launching Wednesday on TheAngelReese.com. “Angel x Reese’s” collection is set to debut with eight must-have items, including tees, hoodies, and hats. That’s not it, as there will be two more drops in the future that will feature a stylish jersey and eight additional pieces emblazoned with the iconic Reese’s Cups logo.

“I wanted to deliver something that they could proudly wear this season. We worked as quickly as possible with Reese’s to build a collection that really reflected who I am — bold, vibrant, and unapologetically me,” said Angel Reese as the deal adds to her growing list of partnerships with iconic brands, continuing her trend of aligning with well-established names, given that The Hershey Company’s existence dates back to more than 100 years.

“The fans really made this happen,” said Angel Reese, as this announcement comes after a lot of anticipation since the No. 7 WNBA Draft pick addressed her supporters by calling them Reese’s pieces. Let’s discuss all the buzz around this partnership that has gripped every Angel Reese fan for two months.

Angel Reese and the candies – A story cooking since long

Back in late June, following a big victory against the Indiana Fever, Angel Reese reached out to her 500,000+ fans on Twitter with a playful tweet, asking, “Reese’s pieces, where y’all at?” If that wasn’t enough to stimulate fans, the Reese x Reeses puzzle got even more interesting when the company replied to Reese’s tweet, “Where are we? Just following our favorite player.”

All of that together boosted Reese’s lovers as they were already affectionately calling themselves “Reese’s pieces,” and started pushing for a collaboration between Angel Reese and the candy brand. “My fans started calling themselves ‘Reese’s Pieces,’ and after I kept seeing it on social, I started engaging with some of my fans about it,” revealed the Sky forward.

The picture got much more clear when Reese dropped another big hint this month. While celebrating her Instagram account’s milestone, she mentioned her love for the candies, “i love my reese’s pieces real bad!! some special things are coming VERY SOON! stay tunedddd”.

There is no doubt that Reese is a big fan of the candy; a fact she showcased earlier this season when she had the talented shoe artist Marvin Baroota design custom peanut butter cup sneakers for her. “The connection between my name and the Reese’s brand was obvious, but it went deeper than that,” stated Reese as there are no ifs and buts about the deal after it got public.
