Satou Sabally shared her insights on Chennedy Carter’s common foul, which was upgraded to a Flagrant 1 by the WNBA. On Podcast P with Paul George, Satou Sabally said, “When it comes to playing against Caitlin Clark, where she’s pushed in the back, you know, there have been multiple plays…No, that’s foul. That has no space in the sport. And we all know that.”

She also highlighted the attention Clark received from spectators. She added, “When I’m watching ESPN and the only highlight you can see is how hard she gets screened, I think it takes away from the actual point of basketball.” She also recalled an instance when she encountered a similar situation.

“That is not being shown on TV. Like, we can’t be too soft now,” she concluded. Considering the facts, Caitlin Clark’s effect is quite visible these days in the WNBA. Her arrival has significantly increased the viewership of Fever’s matchups. But despite all these factors, she is struggling hard to make a space in the WNBA.

Clark’s learning the pros and cons of WNBA

Until now, Clark has experienced physicality from the Sky’s guard and disappointing behavior from her teammates on the court. Not only this but she has also been omitted from the USA’s roster going to the 2024 Paris Olympics this year, despite her performance where her current average stands at 16.8 points, 6.3 assists, and 5.3 rebounds per game. However, this statistic is a questionable decrease compared to her NCAA performance.

During her collegiate days, Clark averaged 28.4 points and achieved a record of 3,951 points, the highest attained by any basketball player. As per her previous statistics, viewers seemed to pay $3,000 for tickets to watch Clark from her career days. But as Clark is still learning how to cope with the WNBA, it’s good to “give the girl a break,” as said by Paul Pierce on Undisputed.

“I mean, we’ve been critical of her, but we praised her. I just want to enjoy what she’s brought to the game. I’m enjoying watching the WNBA on a whole new level more than I ever have before,” he added. Now the question is: will Clark be able to make a comeback in the upcoming showdown?
