Despite missing the last few games of her rookie season, Angel Reese is back on track—at least the WNBA’s leading rebounder appears to be. But according to her “Uncle Shaq,” it’s her love life that needs attention. So, he took it upon himself to play matchmaker for “Chi-town Barbie” on her podcast, ‘Unapologetically Angel.’ Of course, he couldn’t move forward without knowing Reese’s preferences.

Shaq pressed her for details about the type of man she’d want. “A high-caliber man. A smart, nice, and genuine man. But he cannot be a house husband,” Reese finally admitted after some initial reluctance. At first, she said, “I’m not looking for a man. I’m just looking for happiness in life.” It might have seemed like Shaq was pushing her, but now it appears she wasn’t entirely opposed.

On October 29, after her appearance at the 2024 CFDA Awards, Reese gave an interview where she shared the traits she’s looking for in a partner. “You gotta be fly. I love somebody that’s stylish, who can put it together and be confident in themselves,” expressed the 22-year-old Maryland native.

The 6-foot-3 athlete and influencer called it quits with millionaire college basketball star Cam’Ron Fletcher in March. “Yeah, I’m single. I don’t got no man. Don’t attach me to any man. That’s all I’mma say. That’s it,” she told millions of her Instagram followers after splitting from the Florida State Seminoles player. Since then, the 2024 All-Star hasn’t confirmed any relationships but has been rumored to have been with an NBA star.

Angel Reese tangled in dating rumors

It was through basketball that Reese and Fletcher got to see each other. Eventually, they grew closer during the COVID-19 pandemic. The pair even enjoyed a holiday together in Jamaica, where they got matching tattoos of each other’s names. Adorable, right? But it wasn’t meant to be. Despite having a lot in common, including their NIL deals, they eventually parted ways.

Fletcher, like Reese, boasts a staggering net worth in the millions as of last year, thanks to endorsement deals with Rising Spear and Urban Outfitters. Reese, meanwhile, is no less successful, with a net worth of around $2 million and a multi-year Reebok contract secured after Uncle Shaq took charge as president of the brand’s basketball division.

Reese has been involved in quite a few dating rumors since then — Kevin Durant, G Herbo, and Jalen Duren. Though Reese confirmed none of them, the speculations were a bit stronger with the latter of the lot. Around August, the two had shared vacation pictures with a similar backdrop and Reese would later be photographed in a Detroit Pistons hoodie. She had also commented “we love our J’s” under her former Chicago Sky teammate, Kysre Gondrezick’s post, who’s dating Boston Celtics guard Jaylen Brown.

But that was as much confirmation we got. After denying rumors with Durant and G Herbo, Reese hinted that she is single and even expressed an interest in dating an NBA player in the future who can keep up with her busy schedule.
