As Indiana gets ready for college football’s biggest game on Monday night, a surprising wave of support caught everyone’s attention. A former rival of the Hoosiers, Caitlin Clark, wrote a message in support of the Indiana College Football team. Following Clark, the Indiana Fever’s General Manager got involved. Their endorsements meant more than just the usual championship hype. Indiana’s moment had gotten attention far beyond the football field.

Clark clearly voiced her support for the top-seeded College Football team through X.

“Best of luck to @IndianaFootball, we are all pulling for you !! Get it done 🙌🏻,” the WNBA star wrote.

Her support reached thousands of people. The statement meant a lot because Clark has a complicated relationship with Indiana athletics. She played against the Hoosiers many times in important Big Ten games during her four years at the University of Iowa. The most important of these was the 2022 Big Ten Tournament championship game, which Iowa won. Clark was on one side of one of college basketball’s most intense rivalries for years. But as Indiana football’s biggest moment approached, old conference barriers fell away, and everyone came together to support the team.

Clark’s star power as one of the top WNBA players is another significant reason why her support is huge for the Hoosiers.

Clark was the first overall pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft. She only played in 13 games during the 2025 season because of injuries, but she has said she will be back for the 2026 season in good health. Her participation in the Team USA training camp last December shows that she is on her way to becoming a star in American basketball. When someone as important as Clark shows support, it’s more than just a fan’s excitement.

Amber Cox, the general manager of the Fever, echoed Clark’s sentiment.

“This is fantastic. ❤️ Good luck to the Hoosiers tonite!” Cox wrote, turning the club’s official platform into a way to cheer on the championship game.

The Fever’s involvement expands the support and brings more eyes to watch the College Football Playoff finals.

The story of Indiana’s path to Monday’s game is told. The Hoosiers, who were ranked number one, crushed Alabama and Oregon in the playoffs and blew past Ohio State, Iowa, and Penn State during the regular season. Fernando Mendoza, who won the Heisman Trophy, was in charge of everything. Receiver Jalen Sarratt caught 62 passes for 15 touchdowns, which was the most in the country. Speaking of Sarratt, he may have played a part in Clark wanting to let her support for the Hoosiers know to the public.

Why Caitlin Clark Is Rooting for Indiana Football vs. Miami

All it took was one lighthearted revelation. Jalen Sarratt, the Hoosiers’ wide receiver, revealed during a press conference that he named his dog “CC,” paying homage to Caitlin Clark. Clark couldn’t help but respond once the clip went viral. She jumped into the comments section of the viral TikTok.

“Hope he scores 3tds Monday night,” and “Big Indiana fan Monday night,” Clark commented.

Sarratt had admitted that Indiana fans might not appreciate the fact that his dog is named after one of their biggest rivals. But that ‘rivalry’ seems to have cooled off as she is now playing for Indiana in the WNBA.
