Golf is not Sophie Cunningham’s forte. After being announced as a caddie for Caitlin Clark at the upcoming LPGA Annika Pro-Am, Cunningham reposted the announcement and captioned it with one word: “FOUR!!!!!!” Clark was quick to correct her, replying with “Yeah clearly we have a lot to learn about golf …😂😂😂 It’s fore bud @sophie_cham.” Cunningham will get time to learn the ropes with Lexie Hull and Clark. While she isn’t the best at Golf terminology, she has just made waves with another offseason deal.

Cunningham is still grabbing headlines in the WNBA offseason. She was the pace car driver at NASCAR and even went viral because of her cheeky post with Sydney Sweeney. Now she will once again be in the spotlight at the Annika Pro-Am. Capitalising on this is $2.1B worth of brand Boston Beer, which has signed Sophie Cunningham for their Sun Cruiser drink in her offseason.
“Grab a sun cruiser and give a toast to @sophie_cham, our newest partner in the sun cruiser fam. we’re kicking off the fun with a party in nyc this week. hit the link in our bio for more info and to rsvp. ☀️🏀” announced the brand with Sophie Cunningham dressed in a full white outfit. The party mentioned in the caption is a pop-up 21+ event in New York City on Thursday, November 13, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. EST. It will serve the Sun Cruiser and some, coupled with a “Buckets & Barstools” free-throw competition.

“This partnership is all about embracing chill time,” said Erica Taylor, senior brand director for Sun Cruiser. “Sophie is known for her fierce competitiveness on the court and her unfiltered, fun-loving personality off it, making her the perfect partner to champion the art of the unwind. We’re excited to sponsor her off-season and show that the best athletes know how to balance the grind with the good times.”
Sophie Cunningham is the perfect WNBA athlete to represent the party theme this brand wants to convey. Just a few days ago, while referring to the embarrassing Instagram story incident, Cunningham said, “I don’t know s— about golf. I’m really good at drinking and driving the golf cart.” Recently, Cunningham returned to Missouri for a Riley Green concert and posted a dump from it captioned, “Where camo and denim are the most common colors.”

When Cunningham is not balling on the court, she is partying off it, making this a perfect fit. Don’t mistake that she is not involved in the WNBA affairs, though. Cunningham is one of the most bold stars advocating for players’ rights every step of the way. At the same time, however, she has admitted a reality regarding a WNBPA leadership that many were pointing towards.

Sophie Cunningham Admits ‘Conflict Of Interest’ With Unrivaled Co-Founders
This has been a long, stretched-out point of criticism against the Players’ Union. Collier and Stewart run Unrivaled, along with being the chief negotiators for the CBA. That has gotten even worse since Nneka Ogwumike joined the Series B project. However, all this while we thought the players supported their leadership, since no player acknowledged this. Ever since Collier came out with her bombshell exit interview, multiple players have supported her. No player spoke against her. That includes Sophie Cunningham.
“Everything that Napheesa (Collier) said, we all feel that way, and we’re all going to back her, and I think that’s pretty strong coming from her. I think a lot of us have been saying that, but when it comes from someone of that caliber of a player that we’re being serious,” Cunningham had said. However, she has finally acknowledged the grey area of the situation with Collier and Stewart.

“So, both of these girls, great f____ players, right? (Stewart and Collier) Phenomenal. Can’t say enough good things about them on the court. But they’re also a part of our a part of our exec board. And so that could be a little conflict of interest because W and Unrivaled,” Cunningham said on her podcast ‘Show Me Something’.
At the same time, she did not seem to have much problem with it. Cunningham even applauded the two for fairly compensating the players. “There’s some conflict of interest a little bit. So that’s interesting. But I will say I think it’s cool that they’re paying these players because now they’re allowed to stay stateside,” She said.
Cunningham has stayed away from Unrivaled so far. That could be because she doesn’t need much offseason pay courtesy of her multiple brand endorsements. Cunningham’s brand value has spiked in the last year since joining the Indiana Fever. She currently has deals with Ring, Arby’s, Adidas, Sun Cruiser, and her own podcast. There could be even more added to the list as the offseason goes on. She has also expressed interest in trying out modelling after seeing Angel Reese in the Victoria’s Secret lineup.
