“The single biggest needle mover in all of American sports since Michael Jordan,” according to former Nike Basketball Brand Marketing Director Jordan Rogers, finally made major progress in something she was promised when she signed that record-breaking $28 million, 8-year deal with Nike. Yes, Caitlin Clark just took a big step toward getting her own signature shoe. She can now officially be called a signature Nike athlete after the company dropped her personal logo. But of course, some people still found ways to poke fun at it.
As the Indiana Fever organization celebrated the news by giving everyone at Gainbridge Fieldhouse a free Caitlin Clark signature logo shirt during their game against the Seattle Storm, Sophie Cunningham had some mischief brewing. The Mercury guard, never one to shy away from playful antics, found a way to make the moment about a little more than just the logo drop.
She took to X and posted a picture of herself with a half-broken tooth, writing, “I’ll never be cool enough to have my own signature logo, BUT IF I WAS, I’d want it to be my top teeth from this photo.” Classic Sophie. Only Cunningham can poke fun at Caitlin while still congratulating her!

One third of the fan-favorite “Tres Leches” was never going to let this moment pass without adding her own twist. Remember when the Adidas athlete chipped her front tooth during a game against the Connecticut Sun in June? Back then, she posted a TikTok with the caption, “tell me you play in the W without telling me you play in the W,” and it instantly went viral.

Clark had jumped in on the fun back then too, showing off her meme game by posting a photo of Jim Carrey’s character from Dumb and Dumber (1994) smiling with a chipped tooth on her Instagram story, simply captioned, “Sophie.” These two are always playfully trolling each other, and that just shows how close their bond is. So, don’t be surprised if Clark claps back with something even funnier this time.

But while their bond grows deeper off the court, the Indiana Fever continue to perform on the court without them. The Fever moved to 6th in the table after their impressive 20-point win over the Seattle Storm. While Sophie is out for the season after injuring her MCL, fans eagerly wait for Caitlin Clark to return from her groin injury — she has now missed 16 consecutive games for the Fever. Luckily for the fans, coach Stephanie White actually has an update this time.
Stephanie White provides Caitlin Clark injury update
For a player like Caitlin Clark to suit up for only 13 games, while also losing Sophie Cunningham, Aari McDonald, and Sydney Colson for the entire season, it’s been tough watching the Indiana Fever’s season unfold. But credit to coach Stephanie White — she’s managed to keep the team afloat, guiding them to the 6th spot(for now) with a 20-18 record. And now, it looks like some good news might finally be on the way.

Coach White shared an interesting Caitlin Clark injury update before the game against the Seattle Storm. “She went through our walkthrough yesterday. Today it was very short, prior to gametime. But she went through it yesterday. And I want to see her in practice. Live in practice,” she said via Scott Agness.
While this update doesn’t give a clear timeline for the superstar’s return, it does bring a sense of optimism for Fever fans. Knowing that Clark is back on the court, practicing, and inching closer to full team action is enough to spark some hope. Stay tuned — her comeback could be right around the corner!
