Caitlin Clark has established her off-court skills as a Haweye, being one with the group. However, unlike her four-year-long college career, she only had a week. That, too, was a training camp. Nevertheless, like Sabrina Ionescu of the Liberty stated, there’s no other player who could do it better than her. Hence, picking up on the team’s vibe already, Clark has checked in with vets like Erica Wheeler and NaLyssa Smith. But what in particular did the fans capture in Fever’s latest photoshoot?

The No. 22 is quite famous amongst her college basketball batch of 2024 as the life of the party. And she has successfully transpired the same for Indiana. During their night shoot, the popular rookie borrowed the 17 and 1 neck pieces of Wheeler and Smith, respectively. The official account of the team posted a video of the trio, along with Aliyah Boston, cracking jokes and laughing together. The post read: “Erica Wheeler and NaLyssa Smith let Caitlin Clark borrow their chains for our nighttime photo shoot.”

In the video, the generational talent was seen asking Wheeler about poses, taking the rookie under her wings. Clark’s favorite was biting the numbers, while Wheeler suggested the nail-biting pose. While the photos are still not out, the already-apparent connection between the Fever supers has captured fans’ hearts, and here’s how!

“Iced out” Caitlin Clark is the hot topic of Indianapolis

In the middle of their training week, the Fever crew stepped out in the streets to get some shoots ready. But the bonding between the teammates and Caitlin Clark got to the fans first. Bri Lewerke of Sports Illustrated commented on the 2-time Naismith POY wearing the glittering diamonds on the street, still in uniform and getting hysterical with her team.

“Caitlin Clark iced out in the middle of the Indianapolis streets in full uniform is pure comedy.

Bleacher Report, too, could not stay behind. They mentioned how Erica Wheeler and NaLyssa Smith are great veterans to the NCAA’s all-time leading scorer as she begins her new journey as a pro. Moreover, the added emojis suggested that the heavily jeweled look is quite funny. The two have been great supporters since day 1 for the former Hawkeye, with Wheeler calling herself Clark’s elder sister.

“Fever players Erica Wheeler and NaLyssa Smith let Caitlin Clark wear their chains for a photo shoot.”

One X user chimed in saying that Clark will now also borrow Wheeler’s and Smith’s love for tattoos. Moreover, they said that she will have one by September when the 2024 WNBA season ends. The 2019 WNBA All-Star Game MVP has a lot of ink throughout her body, hinting at her life before she entered the league. At the same time, Smith has a tattoo on her leg that reads, ‘Black Lives Matter’. While we cannot say if Caitlin Clark is going to get some ink or not, the friendliness in this team in such a short period of time can be suggestive.

“It has begun. She’ll have a tattoo by the end of the season.”

Another follower was just delighted to see how much the team has started liking each other. Definitely, Indiana has shown that they are supporting each other and getting attention for it before the 2024 WNBA season even starts. Everyone on the Fever team is saying positive things about the NCAA’s sensation. Coach Sides even said that sometimes she turns back to hide her excitement as the stellar No. 22 makes a deep shot or a pass.

“Already getting that team chemistry in.”

While Clark has never revealed her likeness to rap music, it might be suggestive that her glimmering chains make her one of the rapping squad members. Hence, a podcaster and basketball follower gave Caitlin Clark a new name as her identity as a rapper was released. It looks like the trend of giving someone a rapper name has not died down yet.

“We got Caitlin Cousins out here.”

There is no doubt that the connection between the young talents of Christie Sides is already at the top. Whether it is on the court or it is about their off-the-court leisure time, it will be worthwhile to see how these relationships turn with time. But until then, the fans will soon have amazing photos of the team pooling up on the streets of Indianapolis.
