With the WNBA stuck in tense CBA negotiations and uncertainty hanging over the league, the last thing anyone expected to steal the spotlight was a snack-drop tease. But after Angel Reese hinted at something brewing with Paige Bueckers during her TikTok Live weeks ago, a beloved candy-and-cookie giant now appears to be quietly building toward a major announcement.

“Me and Paige actually have something really big coming up together. Stay tuned!” Reese said in her live back in October.
And now, with fans wondering for over a month what this could mean, we might finally have the answer. The Reese’s, a candy brand worth $3.1B, owned by The Hershey Company, recently teased a collaboration with Oreo and dropped a cryptic post on its official Instagram page that hints at a partnership between two major WNBA stars, Reese and Paige Bueckers.

On their page, Reese’s updated their bio to say, “The official Instagram Paige of Reese.” And in another post, the brand teased the collab by writing, “Their numbers may be 5, but together, this duo’s a solid 10… coming soon 👀.” Since both Reese and Bueckers wear No. 5 and ‘page’ is spelled as ‘paige’ in their bio, it didn’t take long for people to connect the dots.
Back in mid-2025, Reese’s and Oreo dropped two new mash-up products that instantly had fans talking. First came the Reese’s Oreo Cup, a twist on the classic peanut-butter cup, and then came its partner in crime, the Oreo Reese’s Cookie.

While there has been no official news yet, this wouldn’t be the first time Angel Reese and Reese’s are doing a collab.
Back in 2024–25, the company rolled out a fan-driven apparel line built entirely around the rising WNBA star and her “Reese’s Pieces” fanbase. The collection blended Angel’s on-court identity with the candy’s iconic orange-and-brown branding and dropped custom logos, jerseys, streetwear drops, and even a crown-inspired Reese’s Cup motif that played off her “Queen” nickname.

“The fans really made this happen,” Angel Reese said in an interview back in August. “This collection is for my Reese’s Pieces – who’ve been with me every step of the way, and the design elements bring together things that I love -basketball, style, and of course, Reese’s!”
On the other hand, Paige Bueckers has her own history with Oreo. Earlier in the year, she appeared in a lighthearted Oreo Cakesters campaign alongside her partner and former UConn teammate Azzi Fudd. The ad leaned into their playful chemistry by trading jokes, shooting around, and matching the nostalgic, fun-first energy Oreo markets to its younger fans.
With the ongoing CBA negotiations, this news couldn’t have arrived at a better time. The league and the players’ union recently agreed to a six-week extension, now moving the expiration date to reach an agreement to January 9, 2026, after their previous one-month extension expired on November 30.

However, either side can end the extension if they feel the discussion is unfair, with a 48-hour notice. While the league has recently released a new revenue-sharing proposal, the numbers have made players more angry than happy. So, even as uncertainty lingers in the offseason, Angel Reese and Paige Bueckers are giving fans something to get excited about.
Angel Reese & Paige Bueckers: An unexpected duo
During the All-Star weekend in Indianapolis last season, Bueckers and Reese generated major buzz after photos of them laughing, posing, and joking during Team Collier practice went viral. So, pairing two No. 5s, two rising stars, and two massive personalities has created a level of organic excitement brands dream about.

“I’ve known Paige for a long time,” Reese said over All-Star Weekend as per SI. “We were the No. 1 and No. 2 players in our class, so we’ve been in a relationship for a really long time.”
Another thing that both these players have in common, besides being one of the best players in their college basketball days, is that both of their teams, the Chicago Sky and the Dallas Wings, recorded their worst season in 2025. But that doesn’t say anything about their performance on an individual level, as Reese was regarded as the best rebounder in the league, while Paige Bueckers won Rookie of the Year.
