As it had been five years since Moore last played a game with the Lynx, she had a long list of supporters who’ve helped her in this big achievement. “My love, thank you for being such a great friend, an encouragement, and an inspiration to me through all of the adversities of our story,” said Moore reflecting on, and being grateful for the most important person in her list.

And, that’s none other than her husband Jonathan Irons. Back in 2007, Maya Moore first met her beloved husband in the middle of significant adversities. At this time, Jonathan already suffered wrongful accusations of burglary and assault which threatened him with a sentence of 50 years.

But, this was not enough to stop Moore from falling in love with Jonathan Irons. Their love story is truly one for the ages. Moore used her considerable platform to support her beloved while advocating for racial justice and legal reform. As she went on to promote the campaign, she had to step back from her other love, basketball. But finally, her hard work paid off, and the convictions were overturned.

In 2020, nine days after Jonathan’s release, both Irons and Moore got married and soon welcomed their son, Jonathan Hughston Irons Jr. Looks like a perfect love story. Right? Yes, it is. Stay tuned to know more!
