1. A’ja Wilson–Las Vegas Aces
A’ja Wilson‘s 2025 season changed what it meant to be great in women’s basketball. The Las Vegas Aces star won her fourth MVP award, breaking records by scoring 30 or more points in 13 games and having the first-ever 30-point, 20-rebound game. Wilson was the best player on both ends of the floor, averaging 23.4 points and 10.2 rebounds in 40 games.
Winning MVP, Finals MVP, and Defensive Player of the Year in the same season was the best thing that happened to her in her historic season. In Game 4, which the Aces won to win the championship, Wilson scored 31 points and grabbed 9 rebounds. This was the Aces’ third title in four years, and it solidified Wilson’s status as the most dominant player in the game.

2. Napheesa Collier–Minnesota Lynx
Napheesa Collier shook the entire WNBA with her allegations against the league boss, Cathy Engelbert, but it was just a part of Phee’s 2025 season.
She had the best season of her career in 2025, making her one of the best scorers in the league. The Minnesota Lynx forward played in 33 games and averaged a career-high 22.9 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 3.2 assists per game. Collier was very efficient at all three levels, making 53.1 percent of his shots from the field, 40.3 percent of his shots from three, and 90.6 percent of his free throws.

3. Kelsey Mitchell–Indiana Fever
The Indiana Fever would have never made it to the playoffs, let alone a semifinal push, without Kelsey Mitchell. The team lost 5 key players, with Caitlin Clark being the most painful absentee. However, Mitchell didn’t let the Indiana crowd feel the absence. The guard played in all 44 regular-season games and scored a career-high 20.2 points on 45.6% shooting. He also averaged 3.4 assists and 2.5 three-pointers per game.
Mitchell’s great play got her fifth place in the MVP voting and her third All-Star selection, making her a player who is always good enough to be an All-Star. In 2025, she reached another important goal: she became the fifth fastest guard in WNBA history to score more than 4,000 points in her career, doing so in just 238 games.

4. Alyssa Thomas–Phoenix Mercury
Alyssa Thomas led the Phoenix Mercury to a historic season of playmaking, almost averaging a triple-double and coming in third in the MVP voting. Thomas made history by becoming the first WNBA player to record three straight triple-doubles, the last of which was against Indiana, when she scored 18 points, got 11 rebounds, and gave 10 assists.
She set a new league record with eight triple-doubles this season, which is more than double the previous career high of four. Thomas’s great all-around play helped Phoenix get to the WNBA Finals, making her one of the league’s most dynamic and versatile players. Her 2025 season changed what is possible for playmakers.

5. Paige Bueckers–Dallas Wings
Paige Bueckers was touted to be one of the greatest rookies in WNBA history. Despite the Dallas Wings’ poor show in the league, Bueckers’ individual performance helped her win the 2025 Rookie of the Year award with 70 of 72 possible votes.
In 36 games, the 23-year-old UConn player averaged 19.2 points (ironically, CC too averaged 19.2 in her rookie year), 5.4 assists, and 3.9 rebounds, and he made an immediate All-Star impact. Bueckers set a record for rookies by scoring 44 points against Los Angeles.

Paige was the first player in league history to score more than 40 points while shooting 80% from the field. Her great two-way play and ability to stay consistent on a team that was having trouble showed why so many people think she will have a legendary WNBA career.
