With playoffs one game away, body camera footage from a March nightclub arrest has resurfaced, putting two of Dallas’ stars back in the spotlight. Ahead of the 2026 WNBA season, Ogunbowale was arrested, but new body camera footage stemming from the March arrest has now made its way into the public eye.

The incident occurred at around 4:15 a.m. on March 5, as per the latest body cam video, just outside the popular Miami nightclub E11EVEN. Ogunbowale, Bueckers, and other WNBA players were celebrating Ogunbowale’s championship victory in the 2026 Unrivaled women’s basketball league before they were escorted out. Wings star guard Paige Bueckers found herself in the middle of the altercation, as she can be seen trying to calm the situation down before the police officer pointed a taser at the 2025 WNBA Draft No. 1 pick. The 1-minute, 48-second body cam footage was shared by California Post Sports.
“We got her,” said Bueckers.
The officer can be seen making his way to Arike Ogunbowale and trying to grab her wrist to make the arrest. The Wings player pulled her hand away, but the officer managed to get hold of her. The situation quickly escalated as the police officer pulled out his taser and asked the crowd that had built up around the player to “back up.” However, Paige Bueckers put her arm around Ogunbowale and repeatedly told the officer that they had got Ogunbowale. This led to the taser being pointed at her too.
According to the New York Post, the players got into an altercation inside the venue. However, the reason for the guard’s arrest was that she allegedly punched one of the nightclub’s security staffers in the face.
So, following the complaint from the security staff, a police officer went to detain the 29-year-old. But the situation spiraled to a point where the officer had to pull out a taser on Paige Bueckers. Unrivaled host Maria Clifton, the Las Vegas Aces guard Jackie Young, and the Chicago Sky forward DiJonai Carrington could also be seen in the video as the players pleaded with the cop to let her go.
Despite the continued tense moments, Ogunbowale was ultimately detained. And as the officer took her to the car, Clifton could be heard shouting in the footage, “Stop it. Do not put handcuffs on her. Are you f****** kidding me? She’s a champion.”
Arike Ogunbowale was charged with a count of misdemeanor count of battery after police checked the nightclub’s CCTV footage and found the complaint from the alleged victim consistent. She was later released on a $1,000 bond, while the case against her was dropped in May before the WNBA season began.
Neither Paige Bueckers, Ogunbowale, nor the Wings have addressed the latest footage, but their attention is firmly on the postseason.
Dallas has just one game left to play before the playoffs begin. The Wings will face the Seattle Storm on September 23 at Climate Pledge Arena.
Dallas currently sits seventh in the WNBA standings and is expected to enter the playoffs in the bottom two of the top eight after its recent 87-86 loss to the Phoenix Mercury, the No. 10-ranked team that even failed to make the postseason.
If that remains the case, the Wings will have to either face the mighty Minnesota Lynx, a team that has won all of its matchups against Dallas during the regular season and sits at the top of the standings, or the Golden State Valkyries, the No. 2-ranked team and another opponent the Wings failed to defeat in their three meetings.
So, the timing of newly released body camera footage from Arike Ogunbowale’s March arrest outside a Miami nightclub resurfacing could hardly be more complicated. With the postseason only a game away, the team’s attention should be on navigating a difficult playoff path. Instead, an incident from months ago has two of Dallas’ biggest names back in the spotlight just as the stakes on the court are rising.
