Candace Parker began playing in the league fifteen years ago. She is still casting her spell after 15 years, making her a dangerous player. With 44 seconds left, Ogwumike converted a breakaway layup to give the Sparks a three-point lead and seal the victory for her team, but the response of Candace Parker was surprising. Candace then proceeded to deliver an aggressive embrace, which resulted in a bloody collision. “When I hit, I knew it was going to be either a bump or blood because we hit really hard. I closed my eyes, and when I opened them, I just saw her blood,” Candace said.

Candace Parker chose the wrong method to celebrate, resulting in a catastrophic injury for Ogwumike. Parker was unfazed, saying, “She was okay; she said she was okay, and then I immediately was like, Oh gosh, we’ve got a different bleeding stopped.” The change of events was completely unexpected, but everyone was relieved that both were safe. Candace will be remembered for her ability to inflict such horrific damage.

Where is Candace Parker now?

Parker signed with the Las Vegas Aces in February 2023. She had surgery in July for a foot injury and is sidelined indefinitely. But it doesn’t diminish Candace’s accomplishments, as ESPN has decided to honor the women’s NBA icon by chronicling her life. Candace’s on- and off-court stories are being documented in a documentary. She holds a particular place in the WNBA, and even A’ja Wilson has referred to her as the ‘GOAT.’
