Born on April 29, 2000, in Chattanooga, Tennessee, United States, Rhyne Howard grew up in the bustling city of Cleveland, Tennessee. The 25-year-old is an American national who discovered her passion for basketball at a very tender age. Howard attended Bradley Central High School in Cleveland, and the school became her playground, which prepared her for a career in the sport. In 2018, the shooting guard was honored with Tennessee Gatorade Player of the Year and Tennessee Miss Basketball, and she hasn’t looked back since.

The former Rookie of the Year was born to Rhvonja Avery and James Howard. While her parents are also U.S. nationals, Rhyne’s ethnicity traces all the way back to her African American roots. In order to remain close to her heritage and protect her culture, Howard is a reputed member of the Zeta Phi Beta sorority.
