Uzun voiced her ambition to be a beacon for the next generation, emphasizing Turkey’s rising power in women’s basketball as a wave of talented young athletes begins to make their mark. Even after moving to the WNBA, her focus on her aspirations in her home country did not diminish. “Hopefully, after winning the league in Türkiye, we will win the EuroLeague championship again. My biggest dream right now is to go to the WNBA as the European champion.” She said last year. And then she did, winning the 2024 EuroLeague while also winning the domestic title.
