Cheryl was a teacher for 17 years and fully supported Tiffany and Tory in their basketball journeys. According to the WNBA player, she started taking the sport seriously because of her brother. He would come home with trophies, which ignited her love for the sport. “When I first started, I wasn’t very good… But eventually, I caught on to how the game works. It was Tory who told my mom, ‘You know, Tiffany is actually kind of good.’ He was the one who convinced her to keep signing me up for basketball,” recalled the WNBA player.
Thanks to that support from her mother and brother, she is now at the helm of professional basketball.

Currently playing with the Seattle Storm, Tiffany Mitchell was born to an African-American household. However, no further information is available about her ethnicity. But what is well documented is her rise in basketball. Tiffany Mitchell’s basketball journey took off at Providence Day School in Charlotte, where her love for the game began to blossom. Her talent quickly carried her to the national stage with the South Carolina Gamecocks from 2012 to 2016.
