Tyasha was born to Shannon-Greer Harris and Bruce Harris on May 01, 1998, in a quaint town of East Lansing, Michigan. She is an American national by birth, and belongs to an African-American ethnicity. She was later raised along with three other siblings in Noblesville, Indiana. She has an older brother named Bruce Harris III, and two younger sisters named, Talia Harris and Tamara Harris, respectively.

Belonging to a strong basketball background, Tyasha Harris also has a cousin named Shay Murphy who played professionally for a Spanish women’s basketball team, Perfumerias Avenida. Which high school did Tyasha Harris attend?

With an outstanding high school career run at the Heritage Christian School in Indianapolis, Indiana, Tyasha Harris became the all-time leading scorer with a total of 2,004 points, 487 steals, 426 assists and 129 blocked shots as an amateur basketball player. The senior even averaged 23.5 points, 6.6 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 4.8 steals to help her team to a third straight 3A state title in 2015-16 season before progressing to South Carolina Gamecocks in 2016.

Harris continued her exceptional gameplay at the University as well. The point guard was instrumental in Gamecocks winning SEC titles and a national championship. She made an average of 9.6 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 5.1 assists during her freshman year in 2016. Besides, with a 23-10 record, the junior led Gamecocks into Sweet 16 tournament in 2018-19 season. As the first-ever Gamecock to score 700 points, Tyasha progressed to the pros with an SEC Female Athlete of the Year title and earned praise from her coaches and teammates alike.
