How much is Abbey Hsu’s contract with the Connecticut Sun worth?
Abbey Hsu signed a three-year contract after being inducted into the Connecticut Sun in 2024. The contract signed was worth $204,253. Moreover, the deal includes an average annual salary worth $68,084 without any signing bonus.
Inducted at 34th place in the WNBA draft, she was one of the third-round picks in the 2024 WNBA draft. Usually, the third-round picks are considered late and substitutions for filling up the teams. And other times, they are waived off as free agents. And something similar happened with Abbey, too. She, too, was waived off by the pro team in the same year of being inducted.
What is Abbey Hsu’s annual salary? Why is it voided?
Abbey Hsu signed a lucrative package with the Connecticut Sun. According to the Spotrac website, her starting salary for the year 2025 can be estimated at $66,079 upon officially joining the team. What’s your perspective on:
Can Abbey Hsu overcome the odds and secure her place in the WNBA with the Sun?
Have an interesting take?
By the time she completes her second year with the Sun, her cumulative cash would amount to $133,480. During her third and final year, the annual salary will reach $70,773 in 2027. The cumulative total for three seasons would be $204,253. However, if she decided to extend her contract by a year, Abbey could be earning $80,883 with a cash cumulative of $285,136.
Unfortunately, all her contract years currently stand null and void. It is primarily because she was waived off by the team in 2024. This suggests that Abbey must make the team through training camps to activate the terms of the contract. And guess what! According to sources, Abbey Hsu signed a training camp contract with the Connecticut Sun in February 2025 and is currently a part of the ongoing camp. But it remains to be seen if she makes the final cut.
