“Where there is a will, there is a way” – Cameron Brink’s will bore the fruits of accomplishment when she was drafted as the number 2 pick in the WNBA 2024 draft. Thanking godmother Sonya Curry, Brink had a fairly emotional moment with her family. Not just that, even the 22-year-old’s supporters felt ecstatic on seeing the NCAA icon finally get what she deserved.

It would have been a sentimental moment even for her previous coach, Tara VanDerveer. The four years that Brink had given to the college circuit saw her meteoric rise, becoming a mainstay for the Stanford Cardinal. After the WNBA draft, Brink was then spotted at the Los Angeles Sparks training camp, preparing for the road that lies ahead.

The Sparks will play two preseason games before officially contesting their first match of the regular season. The first two preseason games will take place against the Seattle Storm and the Phoenix Mercury on May 4 and May 10, respectively. The first game will take place at 6:30 PM CT, whereas the second one will happen at 7 PM CT. Then the team will go ahead and participate in the regular season games.

The first regular season game will be held on May 15 against the Atlanta Dream. The clash of the two powerhouses will start at 7 PM CT at the Walter Pyramid in Long Beach. It will be interesting to see if Curt Miller fields Brink in the first game. That will be confirmed when Brink plays the prematch games.
